Is It Too Much To Ask Bob And Alex That Gaila Will Be Back

Aike

Commander
Red Shirt
Yeah, Gaila the green woman that Kirk tried to sleep with should be back in the sequel. And not only Gaila, but all her green sisters and cousins. Star Trek 12 definitely needs more green women. Bob and Alex please make it so!

I'd like to see some green women myself. But with all of the star ships except Enterprise destroyed at Vulcan and Galia was on one of those ships it is pretty certain she is dead.

I can honestly say I don't care one bit whether or not more Orion women are seen in the sequel.

That is to say, if they're there, great. If they aren't there, I really don't care.

I'm sure that Gaila and quite a few of the other crewpeople made it out of there alive, entirely dependent on the choice of the authors.

More green redheads - full frontal nudity, please.

I didn't recall the movie actually saying which ship she was assigned to, so I checked Memory Alpha and Memory Beta, and they confirm that there is no canonical answer to that question - only that she seemed very pleased with her posting. It seems to me that she would have been very pleased with being posted to the brand-spanking-new Constitution-class Enterprise, and I will continue to hold that as my personal view of where she was assigned until it is stated otherwise in canon.

There are always escape pods and shuttles if she was on the Farragut or another ship in the doomed fleet sent to Vulcan.

While she's there in the backgound when Kirk is called up on cheating the Kobayshi Maru, she isn't in the assembly at the end of the movie when Kirk is given his medal and appointed captain of the Enterprise. That doesn't bode well.

Then again, in the deleted scene Kirk apologizes to a redhead Orion on the Enterprise he mistook for Gaila ("...you're not Gaila, are you?" "No. Nu-uh." I LOL'd), so maybe he knew she was on board?

I've thought about that, but maybe she was just on duty. They couldn't have let the whole crew of the Enterprise off to be there, somebody had to be minding the ship.

I will sooooooooooooooooo boycott this movie if it doesn't have any hot girl-on-girl Andorian lezbo antenna sex.

I liked Gaila fine. What I don't care if I ever see again is that whole "the menz can't stop drooling around Orion women because of the pheremones" deal. That's just overplayed and boring.

I didn't really like Gaila. Granted, she was pretty hot, but her character just served the twin purpose of adding in ANOTHER unnecessary sex scene that makes some OldTrek fans cringe, and to establish NuUhura as a cookie-cutter post-war Working-Woman type character (via above-mentioned sex scene).
