Is it best if i watch TOS before watching Discovery?

For me Star trek is the original series and films with the original cast/or charecters,

None of the spinoffs have really been star trek to me!!!!

If this new series has any of the bravos or is as fervent as the original series it will be a first.

Ideally, they would have written Discovery with the assumption that most viewers haven't seen any of the other series and are seeing what this whole Star Trek thing is all about for the first time.

That said, it's never a bad time to watch TOS.

With the recent news of Fuller saying it's based around Balance of Terror, it might be good to watch this episode at the very least.

Fuller said BoT is a "touchstone", which is different to "based on".
