Is it bad that Enterprise is my favourite Trek show (that isn't Star Trek: The Next Generation)?

Yeah, ever since I've begun watching Enterprise, I wound up considering it my personal favourite for having an endearing cast of characters, solid art design and visuals, interesting stories, and a perfect balancing act between being grittier than Treks past and still maintaining what makes the franchise so good: the exploration of human dilemmas and problems wrapped up in sci-fi escapism, the depiction of a better future, and the wonder of exploration. It's in my opinion, really great TV, and after doing some research I can't believe how visceral the backlash to it was at the time.

So... Is it bad for me to consider it my favourite non TNG show?

This sounds like one of those posts where someone says "unpopular opinion:" then says something that people will just shrug at.

Having a favourite Trek show I think is probably the most un-salty of opinions you'll find in a Trek community.

Besides, you didn't say Picard was your favourite so it's all fine.

Oh yes. Kurtzman's Reign of Fucking Terror (Discovery, Picard and maaaaaaybe Lower Decks? I don't know if the latter counts since it does have a devoted fandom) is honestly up there with stories about ghost fucking and the 2013 video game as one of the worst things baring the Trek name.

Picard's third season is meant to be really great, but the Michael Chabon seasons before it are... Yeah. They and Discovery are mean pieces of work.

You're a bad person and you should feel bad.

Joking. I hope you don't genuinely care whether other people disagree with your preferences in Trek.

Personally Deep Space 9 is my favorite, and I'm happy to elucidate why when there's genuine interest in my reasoning, but if someone disagrees with me? They're allowed! They're wrong, but they're allowed. :p

What a sad, boring world this would be if everyone felt the same way about everything.

It's a well produced product, but Scott Bakula lacks the charisma of other lead actors like William Shatner or Kate Mulgrew. IMHO

No it’s not.

Why would it be bad? Some people say Picard is their favorite, others say Discovery, and still others prefer TNG, TOS, or something else entirely. The one thing that connects us all is our love for Star Trek. So who cares which version you like best? It’s all subjective anyway. Love what you love—what anyone else thinks doesn’t matter. The only thing that does is whether it brings you joy.

Besides, Enterprise was a fantastic show that should have gone on for three more seasons, but alas...

I enjoy Enterprise and wish it got more love. I appreciated Lower Decks giving all the love to Enterprise that they could (And SNW too with the crossover) and the only reason I would want a Scott Bakula series is because it would be a direct reference to Enterprise and not the original series.
