is Heroes getting S5?

Well, there were some good things in Season 2 like Adam Monroe, Elle, the virus-infected future, and Nathan's redemptive arc.

Is this a short season? Only 13 episodes?

-According to IMDB Samuel and the other carnies are only in the show for 13 episodes total. (they are on ep. 11 right now)
-According to an interview with the NBC prez on Saturday no decision has been made yet if the show will be picked up again next year, but that filming had already finished for this season. So if it is not pick up, it will not have a final series ending episode, rather just whatever season ending they have already filmed.

So does that mean that this is a short season for heroes? Even if they are doing 2 chapters this season, without the carnies in the second chapter, it still seems to be pretty early to have finished filming a full season and all of the second chapter.

Anyone know?

I can't stop watching. I don't know what's wrong with me, but on that list will be the following: "Can and will not stop watching Heroes no matter how bad or good it is." That ball is in your court, NBC. Do what you will.

Have to admit I kind of love all the scenes that occur at the carnival.

I remember reading somewhere semi credible that
the compass plays a large role in most of the stories near the end of the series, season 7 was cited explicitly, although that may mean "chapter" 7
.

Last week this show finally started to get boring to me. They've been dragging the whole season 4 plot out, I feel like it has not made any significant progress since the beginning of the season.

And I think the powers behind the show know they are loosing ground. Claire's neckline keeps getting lower and shorts keep getting shorter, and the camera always makes sure you are looking at them. I know that some may consider that a good thing, but if they start to focus on eye candy more than the plot and story, it usually means there is no story.

I'm kinder waiting for the DVD of the current season to be released here, as I got fed up with how it has been treated by the Australian network that screens it. Plus it's fun to watch over several days. Stopped after 6 episodes this season.

At this point NBC is so screwed and desperate that they might just renew this P.O.S. show - when any real network would have cancelled it.

no way can nbc canned any shows ! it going to need all the help it can lol:lol:

After seeing the horrible lineup they have planned - instant cancellation bait - I agree. They better not turn up their noses at a 2.0 demo. :p

Why will Zachary Quinto leave Heroes I hope that doesn't happen does anyone not like Sylar

I'll tell you who should hate Sylar with the fiery intensity of a thousand suns: Zachary Quinto! How could anyone as smart and talented as he is not read the scripts and howl with laughter at what absolute junk they are? He is being utterly wasted by bad writing.

The only reason Sylar is worth watching is because of Quinto, and I cannot fathom why he isn't fed up with the whole situation. Nobody likes having to do their own job at work and their co-workers jobs too because they're totally incompetent. Maybe he has a very well developed sense of ironic detachment and finds the whole situation amusing, or his loyalty to his co-stars is keeping him from leaving and perhaps scuttling the show in the process and getting everyone fired, including other actors who have far less rosy future prospects.

Well, there were some good things in Season 2 like Adam Monroe, Elle, the virus-infected future, and Nathan's redemptive arc.

Adam and Elle were two more wasted actors. The virus-infected future is one of the stupidest plotlines they've ever done and Nathan's arc was another plot arc to nowhere.

Personally, I would like to see heroes get a total shakeup. Maybe set an entire season back in World War I with a different set of Heroes fighting on either side of the trenches.

The war is grinding through men, material, and history with no end in site. Both sides are desperate for an edge that will allow them to gain victory. Suddenly men on either side begin developing super powers that could turn the tide of war. I don't know why, but I've always wanted to see how super powers would have changed WWI.

Maybe... but would you rather a stupid plotline or a boring one? I'd take stupid, with a smile! Plots to nowhere? Wasted actors? Another Heroes hallmark!

Combine this with the above HITLER IS SYLAR!!! plot, go forth with mutant zombie alien super-powered Nazis, and this is made of win.

Super Hitler (who eats brains) vs Super Lloyd George! Sure, the last fight will be a total cop out, but at least the build up will be good! And obviously Franz Ferdinand didn't really die, because he was... Adam Monroe all along!

This can't fail. Unless you give it to the Heroes writing team obviously.

Fine, renew the show, but please:

1) Fire the current showrunners.

2) Either kill Sylar off (and keep it that way) or turn Sylar into a good guy again (and keep it that way).

3) Fire everyone except Jack Coleman, Greg Grunberg, and Zachary Quinto (if Sylar stays alive). Fine, if we keep Coleman this probably means that we have to keep Hayden Panettiere as well. But I'm willing to make compromises and at least she's good-looking. :p I suppose that Samuel is going to die in this season's finale, otherwise I would have liked to keep Robert Knepper on the show as well.

So, the Bennets, Parkman, and perhaps Sylar are going to stay on the show. In addition to them, introduce four (not more) new main characters.

4) Let the main characters finally form a X-Men-like group of super heroes (without costumes)... maybe Noah Bennet and the others decides to found a more benevolent version of the Company during the course of the season.

You don't honestly think Americans know who the frak Lloyd George is? Wait, wait...80s pop star, right? :rommie:

Okay, here's my formula:

1) Fire the showrunner and/or writers. Not sure who's to blame but figure it out and get rid of them.

2) Decide how to handle Sylar so you don't have to change him every two minutes. Good, bad, somewhere in the middle...that part doesn't matter. The fact that they didn't figure out the logic behind this character from the beginning so that they could use him long-term is the source of the trouble.

3) Keep Sylar (if you can figure out how) plus Peter, Angela, Noah, Matt and (if you must) Claire. With better writers, Mohinder might be salvageable and not to be too PC about this, but hey, we can't have a blindingly-white cast. And/or bring back Micah.
