Is Final Fantasy Advent Children worth watching?

Play Final Fantasy VII to at least be introduced to the characters and world.

If you want it to make even the slightest lick of sense, play Final Fantasy VII, but it (Advent Children, that is) is pretty God-awful.

Advent Children is visually absolutely spectacular. The story is ok. I didn't play the game, but I read about it on wikipedia. But the action scenes... wow. Amazing.

I actually enjoyed this movie more than FF: Spirits Within. At least it was more faithful to the series.

If you haven't played FF VII, you should still see Advent Children just for the animation and action. Keep in mind, however, that the story is total pants. That's saying something given what an absolute mess the story of the game was!
