Aha. Yeah, that is a fair point, and in that case I would agree. It sounded like you were saying something else; sorry for the misunderstanding!
 
The six "errand" TOS books come close, focusing a lot of the books on security officers as they do.

I wouldn't mind more exploration of the MACOs. But I wouldn't want to see it go too military, that would kind of go against the whole Trek feel to me.
