Having just seen "The Captain's", it was somewhat difficult, at first, at not thinking that he is 'a little out there', however after seeing him a few times throughout the show, I began to enjoy his clips. I prefer to simply think of him as eccentric. One thing is for sure, he is a marvelous pianist.

I'm really surprised that no one has pointed out that Brooks was obviously high as a freaking kite in The Captains. Seriously, guys, it's not very subtle.

I don't know if he'd dropped acid or just smoked some weed, but there was definitely not an ounce of sobriety in that man during the interview.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but, well, he could have waited till he got the interview out of the way!

I love that this thread was brought back from the dead.

Shortly after seeing The Captains for the first time, I texted a friend and fellow Trek fan specifically to tell him how weird I thought Brooks was in it.

His reply: "He's a jazz man."

I still don't know what that means, but I can't say it's wrong.

I find it odd Avery won't participate in Ira's DS9 documentary. He's obviously going to be a very conspicuous absence, and I wonder if that's exactly what he wants.
