World of Warcraft has fallen off the consciousness of trekbbs to such an extent that no thread was started for the last xpac, which is a first. I am absolutely LOVING WoW Hardcore. In Hardcore if you die.. you DIE. Your character is gone, there is no ress or revival by any in game means. You lose it all. It's changed the entire dynamics of play, the economy, the community.. it's a lot of fun. It's set in Classic Vanilla WoW. Every time someone makes it to lvl 60 there's a service wide announcement in game with cheers.
I only got into Retail WoW when Shadowlands came out. Not the best expansion to start with but i'm loving it in general. Dragonflight was great but it's a bit quiet right now until 10.2. I've been spending a lot of time doing mount hunts and leveling alts. I'm more of a casual player but could be tempted to try Hardcore eventually. For now, i've been enjoying watching Asmon do recaps of the biggest hardcore deaths each week Some of them are BRUTAL.
Asmon seems to hate hardcore for some reason? He just opens himself up to the speculation that he won't play because he won't get past lvl 15 Welcome to WoW @TrekPulse @ I'm in my 16nth year of this stupid game lol. It's such a huge world now, I hope you're enjoying the enormous amount of exploration both of maps, lore, humour and drama associated with Azeroth. If you're interested in diving into the social history of WoW and it's developers and players this is a GREAT read: https://www.reddit.com/r/HobbyDrama/comments/riq4fq/games_world_of_warcraft_part_1_beta_and_vanilla/ I'm hanging out for this poster to do Hardcore but for reasons unknown his account was suspended on Reddit, after winning several yearly awards on Hobbydrama for this Warcraft series. It's very entertaining and informative and you'll feel like you really have a good insight into the history of the community and its at times fraught, at times in love with Blizzard relationship.
Well the next expansion was announced: War Within, which continues the story of Azeroth's world soul.
