Is anyone going to Star Trek: Mission New York?

Hello fellow Trekkies :) I wanted to make sure all of you knew about the newest Star Trek event, Star Trek: Mission New York (www.startrekmissions.com ...put on by ReedPOP, the people who do NYCC) - full of interactive exhibits, celebrity guests and more. Takes place September 2-4 in NYC and I hope to see you all there!!!!!!

I am going on Sunday! The schedule for panels just came out:

Which ones sound interesting to you? I want to go Saturday now, so I might see you there:)
Oh my goodness those panels look awesome. I want to go to all of them. I wish i could go sunday too but my close cousin's wedding is thay sunday. And since I'm already taking a day off for the cherry hill convention i can't take another day off for friday in new york. I can only do saturday. I'm missing the rehersal dinner as is.

Wow, you are going to the Cherry Hill one as well? Awesome! Which is your favorite series? If you like TOS and Spock you should definitely go to the Tribute to Leonard Nimoy and Growing Up Trek. They are both on Saturday and I want to go so bad. Congratulations to your cousin!

Voyager is my favorite but I love all Star trek (except the new movies) I am absolutely going to the nimoy tribute at both conventions

Both of those should be great experiences! Finally, someone who doesn't like the new movies (I don't either but it seems a lot of people do). Are you dressing up for either convention?

I know right! I know people who love those movies but they never saw any other Star Trek.

I used to make uniforms for my (ex)husband but not for myself. I just have a couple of star trek shirts i plan on wearing

I'm going all weekend! My gf and a friend of mine from college are joining me on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to my photo op with William Shatner, the TOS set replica, and the STO on console booth.

I have a question for people who have either been to this con or other Trek conventions: How hard is it to get into a panel? Is it hard to get a halfway decent seat? I don't need front row center. But I hear they won't clear out the audience in between panels, so I'm concerned about getting locked out for not staying in my seat all day.

I've mainly been to cons that had assigned seating. This will be different. I recommend getting online as early as they allow it to make sure you get a seat.

Hi, Balok's Decoy, sounds like you are going to have an awesome time! I've never been to a convention, but you are right about the audiences not getting cleared out. The official website says, "Be sure to arrive early to all Panels to make sure you get a seat. We will not be clearing any rooms in between Panels, so all seating is first-come, first-serve."

There are also some other tips on the website; here is the link:

I would really love to go to the Voyager panel. My future husband is on it lol
Ahh, I see. And who might that be?

Robbert McNeil :adore:

How terrible that you are missing the Voyager panel! Are you able to get a photo-op or autograph with him?
I just hope that someone will put it up on Youtube later. I will definately get his autograph, don't know about a photo though. Being that close to him, I might embarass myself hehe

W00t I am going with the G & T Show - three of us will be there on press passes. Come over and say hi! We will be there all weekend. We'll be interviewing people but probably not broadcasting live (too much equipment to carry, too hard logistically).

Looks like I'll be going. A friend of a friend is generously giving me her passes, so I should be there on Saturday and Sunday, at the very least. I'm looking forward to the panel on Star Trek: Discovery with Nicholas Meyer on Saturday, although I imagine it'll be pretty crowded.
