Ireland Class Heavy Cruiser - USS McCashin - TOS era design.

Gouf

Lieutenant Junior Grade
Red Shirt
Hello all,
I recently finished building this original TOS era ship I designed. So I thought I would share.

Eventually, I'd like to do a 3d version that would be playable in ST:Legacy. But until then I can look up at my shelf and smile.

Let me know what you think.

~D.

That is very nice. I like the dual navigational deflectors. It would be a very nice Starfleet workhorse type of cruiser.

Nice ship you got there:techman:, would it be possible for you to show it from more angles? :)

Santaman, there are 4 gallery links on the page. Here is the finished gallery:

If you want a specific angle, I can shoot it for you. There are also 'in progress' build up pictures, small fly by movies, and my original concept sketches.

dmonix: Wow, I guess it does bear a passing resemblance to the derf class :vulcan:

Icy_Penguigo, Flux Capacitor, and chancellorjake thank you. I'm really glad you like it. I put a lot of hard work into it.

The amount of angles you're showing in that gallery is more then sufficent to get an idea of the shape of your vessel, thank you very much. :D
Nice and sturdy vessel, I like that.

Cool Ship you got there :)

Only a matter of time now till Vance or somebody else does a schematic of it :)

If Gouf wants, I can draw up schematics of the ship... and a TMP version as well. :P

Wow, I would be honored to have schematics made.

Since you mentioned it, I did a set of concept sketches for a TMP refit Ireland I will eventually build. I wasn't going to post them publicly, but since you offered, here they are.

Thank you, ~Duncan

It's very rare that a TOS kitbash impresses me and you've done more than that with this one, Gouf. Really excellent work here. It's a lovely design in it's own right but it also just feels perfectly like TOS.

Looks nice. As someone mentioned earlier, it does share some design qualities with the Derf. I kind of like how it seems to combine design elements from both the Derf and the Larson destroyer.

Wow, thank you Philo. Truly. I was really trying to capture the TOS feel in all the little details. I'm glad it comes across that way.

OH, I got a few emails asking for the dimensions in scale. So I thought I'd post them here as well:
The model is 1/1000 scale. The "to scale" dimensions for the ship are as follows:
Length: 280 meters (model is 28cm)
Width: 132 meters (model is 13.2cm)
Height: 69 meters (model is 6.9cm)

Preator. Thank you. :)

Unicron, I had to dig out my old Fasa RPG stuff, and I do see the resemblance between those 2. I'm glad you like it.
