Ipod help

I just got an Ipod and I wanted to put videos on it but when iTunes converted them and put them on the Ipod, the Ipod does not see them.

Help.

Someone told me that there are converters then I can download but I don't know where to look.

I have always used QuickTime Pro (QT Player>File>Export) to convert videos for my iPod, iPhone and Apple TV, not iTunes.

I use interVideo iVideoToGo to convert to h.264 for iPod -- however, the program isn't freeware.

Do you have a mac or a pc? If you have a mac, try handbrake or visual hub. Just select the iPod option.

Or, this is how you do it in iTunes. Highlight the video. Under the "advanced" menu select "Create iPod or iPhone Version". That's all there is to it.

You could also try http://www.videora.com/, which I believe is freeware.

Edit: actually it seems to be nagware, and the converted video includes an intermittent watermark.

I second the recommendation for Handbrake - nice piece of software and free.

Can be a teeny bit tricky to use if you are not familiar with different codecs but there is excellent online help.
