iPhone Surprise Feature?

I have noticed something new happening with my iPhone iPod application recently that I don't remember happening when I first got it although, for once, it's something good and NOT bad, specifically I've noticed that for at least some of the songs on my iPhone lyrics are apparently being downloaded/added to them and are viewable by touching the screen while the song is playing. There doesn't seem to be any particular rhyme or reason as to which songs it works on and which ones it doesn't but I thought I'd check with other iPhone users and see if they've noticed it too with any of their songs. I don't remember Apple mentioning this feature as part of any of their updates and don't know how (or even if) you can control this feature.

Could you clarify what you are saying. Lyrics have been part of iTunes since iTunes 5 at least and have been viewable in the iPhone/iPod Touch since version 1.1.3 of the iPhone OS. While in the music player hold the iPhone/iPod touch in the upright position and tap the album cover once to see if a song has available lyrics. in the current version of (2.2) available lyrics will automatically display; tap the lyrics once and they will disappear. for lyrics to be available in a song they must be manually input into the songs info from iTunes.

it's nothing new - lyrics can be included in an mp3's ID3 metadata, and if they are, your iPhone will display them.

Well, for some reason I actually never noticed it before, at least not on some of my songs, particularly ones that never had lyrics available before. I know that programs such as Evil Lyrics can download lyrics and I have it installed on my computer but I don't use it that often so the lyrics must be downloading automatically in the background. Oh well. I didn't know it wasn't anything special. Just thought I'd check with other iPhone users.
