This year's 34th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine will announce next Wednesday that an Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen (Inuyasha Final Chapter) television adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi's manga has been green-lit. The anime will broadcast on Japan's YTV this fall and cover the story in volumes 36 to 56 of the manga — the final 21 compiled book volumes. The original staff and cast will reunite for the new anime adaptation.

Awesome! There had been rumors about this a while back but it looks official now. Since the manga has already ended we should get be very litle filler now. Glad to see that the InuYasha anime will be getting an ending!

Yay!!!

Inuyasha for President! Sesshomaru for Veep!

Or vice versa!

I hope we get the English dubs on Cartoon Network/adult swim sometime soon too.

Well - if you think about it, when I was gearing up for the final few episodes (as shown on TV) with Inu and company heading back to his father's grave to track Naraku and hoping to finally see Naraku get his and then it all ends with a To Be Continued?!

It's like ending Farscape at Fractures or something in the third season!

Drove me mad!

I kinda thought it would happen too, but sometimes you just don't know. There've been other things I would have thought more likely to get a sequel that don't have one and also trash that shouldn't have one but does.

^ Isn't everything short of hardcore pornography TV-MA?

I think the network is doing that to cover their butts from parents complaining about their children watching the late night anime. The MA rating scares off the parents that don't want to deal with any violence in their cartoons, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Inuyasha was a popular kids show over in Japan. Violence isn't a big deal to the Japanese at it.

I would give Inuyasha a TV-14 rating at most.

I was just trying to understand what "edit the show to a TV-MA rating" would mean so I guess that means they will label it as TV-MA and lightly edit it (even though they don't have to for a TV-MA rating). I think that means the AMC/FX guidelines where you can say "shit" and show asses but no nipples and "fucks". :)

I honestly have no idea. Inuyasha is rather tame in terms of violence for an anime. It is mostly is cartoony destroying the next monster type of violence. A huge difference from the extreme horror level violence from Hellsing Ultimate, which the network has also been airing.

The language is also very tame. I remember them saying damn a few times.

When they say edit, I'm assuming they are talking about editing the episodes down by cutting out the opening and taking a few seconds out of each episode, to keep them under the 21 minute length to fit in commercials.

I'm glad to see it back in Rotation. This and Samurai Jack need to be on earlier.
I'd have the Naruto stuff on just before dawn--were it up to me.

It's sad that the AS Toonami block was bringing stuff I actually wanted to watch (Sword Art Online & Attack on Titan) then they go and add Inuyaha back and Dragonball Z - ugh.
