Introduction to DS9

hey, everyone.

I’m currently watching Discovery with my girlfriend and she enjoys it a lot.

I thought, I introduce her to DS9 also. But before doing that, maybe watch a few essentials from TNG first that are relevant to DS9.

What TNG episodes would you recommend as “prep work”.

The Wounded, Ensign Ro, Chain of Command Pts 1 & 2 all deal with the Cardassians, and Ensign Ro also sets up the Bajoran situation.

DS9's pilot opens with The Best of Both Worlds.

DS9's Season 3 episode Defiant is a sequel to TNG's 6th season Second Chances episode with Tom Riker.

Journey's End sets up the Maquis story for both DS9 and Voyager.

I thought about BoBW, but that one seems too much of an essential TNG episode to burn it as an introduction to DS9.
It’s backstory for the opening scene and explains about Picard, but not really relevant past the first 5 minutes.
It would also be worthwhile to watch the TOS episodes Errand of Mercy and Private Little War.
And maybe I throw even Mirror Mirror in there, so she get’s tge full picture here.
For a certain pair of Klingons?
I think DS9 works without it, but maybe I make it a Klingon threeparter with Tribbles to complete it.
Definitely "Best of Both Worlds, I & II" and "Chain of Command, I & II." Maybe "The Trouble With Tribbles" from TOS ( ;) ).

See above! :)
