Intrepid and Hidden Frontier announce joint project!

HIDDEN FRONTIER AND INTREPID TO COLLABORATE ON NEW PROJECT,

“ORPHANS OF WAR”

Pasadena California – 27 August 2007 – “Orphans Of War” will unite two legendary captains, Daniel Hunter of the USS Intrepid and Elizabeth Shelby of the USS Excelsior, and give their crews a chance to interact like never before. This project will also bridge the gap between ending plotlines in “Star Trek: Hidden Frontier” and new ones starting up in “Star Trek: Odyssey”, “Star Trek: The Helena Chronicles”, and “Star Trek: Intrepid”. Hidden Frontier executive producer Rob Caves says, “We can't wait to work alongside Intrepid on this short film that will advance all of the shows!”

"Rob Caves and the Hidden Frontier team have always been trailblazers in the fanfilm world, and it's an honour to work with them on what I'm sure will be an exciting addition to the Hidden Frontier mythos”, says Intrepid producer Nick Cook. “Risha's cameo as Captain Shelby in Heavy Lies The Crown was warmly received by the fans and we hope they enjoy seeing both crews working together."

Filming will take place in October 2007 in California with an anticipated release date later in 2007. The project will be directed by Jennifer Cole and edited by Rob Caves.

Awesome! I'd been hoping for a Hidden Frontier movie. This will be really fun.

With all the time and love those folks have put into Star Trek, they really deserve to have a big-budget project on par with Exeter and New Voyages someday.

Who is that guy in the group of HF characters along with Shelby, Lefler and McCabe. I don't recognise him - is he the Excelsior's new Ops Manager, assuming Corey is still its Engineer?

Another great project in the world of fan productions. Even my relatively small involvement in a much less complex (but just as ambitious in it's own way) audio drama has given me an even greater appreciation for your hard work!

The potential for this project is simply breathtaking.

That seems to be Cmdr. Nostrom. If i remember correctly, he appeared in 6x05 "Vigil".

I am glad they are winding up the plot threads in HF and continuing others in Intrepid, plus introducing the other series. Overall, I am looking forward to it.

Yep, that is indeed Cmdr. Ben Nostrom who appeared in Hidden Frontier episode 6.05, "Vigil". He was also mentioned as a potential love interest of Robin Lefler in 5.05, "Epitaph" when he was Cheif Engineer of the USS Valley Forge.

He will be playing Excelsior's Cheif Engineer. Since "Orphans" takes place after the first Odyssey episode, "Iliad", be sure to check Odyssey out to see how that comes to be.
