Interdiction Cruisers in new movie...

I would like to see the use of inderdiction cruisers in the new movie. For those that don't know what a interdiction cruiser is...It is a ship pretty much made to produce a large gravity well that, when in effect wont allow faster than light travel for a certain region around the ship.
I think that this could be used to great affect. It would force a ship to stay and deal with whatever trouble they're in instead of just warping out.

I did just get done reading the Thrawn trilogy. And I think that Trek could still use this type of ship or maybe it doesnt even have to be a ship. But I like the idea of it...minus the TIE fighters.
