Info on "new" DS9 font?

Does anyone know anything about the "new" font used on the newer DS9 novels? I guess new is a relative term since they're really about eight to ten years old now. It seems like the font changed around the DS9 relaunch, with Avatar, Book One, I think.

I know many times these fonts are copyrighted and aren't necessarily available so I'm not asking for anything illegal or anything but, if anyone is familiar with this font, do you know of anywhere I download this font or a reasonable facsimile, assuming it isn't copyrighted, of course.

Thanks in advance.

If you're referring to the font that e.g. "Avatar" is set in on the cover, it looks like one of the weights of LTC Goudy Oldstyle to me. Might not be exactly that font though, there are a lot of fonts that follow that design, going back to the early 1900s.

Here's a link btw: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goudy_Old_Style

Pretty sure it's one of those, i.e. a Garalde/Old-style serif of the Goudy family. I'm sure you can find some cheap or free clones on the interwebs (in typography you can usually find lots of implementations of the same design with varying quality and price).

Michael Okuda designed the books' DS9 logo, and he's a member of the BBS, so maybe he'll drop in and answer. Or you could send him a PM. His username is "Mike Okuda."

Look here -- Trek DS9 Credits Text.

Thanks to everyone for your comments, especially you Allyn. I should've clarified that I was speaking of the actual Deep Space Nine logo font and not the book title font, which often changes from series to series and even book to book.

It did wind up being the DS9 credit font. I'd seen that somewhere else and it was close but not quite the same. I think it may've just been that the version of the font I was seeing was off just a tad. The one from the link appears to be spot on.

Thanks again guys. I really appreciate your help.
