In His Honor

Good question.

I love Spock in "The Tholian Web." He is dealing with so much in that episode, and it is classic Spock. You can see his control, but at the same time, you can see the stress and sorrow boiling just below the surface. The delivery of the line "I'm sure the Captain would have just said....forget it, Bones" is so good. Reminds me of the power and meaning behind "he knows, doctor...he knows" in City on the Edge.

OH I love that episode too!

Loved him in The Voyage Home! So many great lines! I haven't seen all of TOS yet but for now, This Side Of Paradise, Amok Time, and Journey To Babel.

"Amok Time" and "Journey to Babel" first came to mind, perhaps because they both deal directly with his Vulcan roots.

Not mentioned yet is "All Our Yesterdays" where his doomed romance with Zarabeth is truly heart-breaking . . ..

(Janeway's Girl: The clip you mentioned is from "I, Mudd.")

Thanks!

Journey to Babel is probably my favorite Spock episode. We meet his parents, and hear about his early childhood. The scene with Spock and Amanda is heartbreaking, and the Spock/Sarek humor poking fun at Amanda is hilarious.

Amok Time is a close second, especially the near emotional outburst he has after discovering Kirk was alive.

City on the Edge of Forever had some great Spock moments. MY favorite: stone knives and bear skins.

The Galileo Seven and Tholian Web are great episodes with Spock in command and having to deal with emotional humans.

Mirror Mirror.

His performance as mirror Spock was amazing. Nimoy gave the character the impression of "Is he friend or foe?" quite nicely, and it was interesting to see him play a mirrored variation of the iconic character.

It was also interesting to see that something became of mirror Spock's talk with Kirk. Knowing what happened after their chat in the transporter room made the entire DS9 mirror universe arc worthwhile.
