Impulse engine(s) on the Nebula?

By the same token, 17th-century people watching images of our era in a crystal ball might suspect faulty fakery when seeing us click on Start to shut down Windows.

The impulse engines on the Nebula-Class ships are on the top section of the warp pylons, and IMO, are woefully small. Personally, I have always felt that the ship DOES have Galaxy-Class style impulse drives on the saucer, but they are covered up by hull material, and thus, embedded. I think this can work, since there are no windows at all in those areas. I always felt that maybe they were covered to avoid interfering with the operations of the sensor/weapons pod.

OK I didn't understand you correctly. I thought when you said the impulse engines were on the warp pylons, you were saying they were in a style like the impulse engines of the Intrepid Class.
