Immortal Comic Book Help

Nardpuncher

Rear Admiral
I remember in about 1992 or 93 reading a comic book that started with a guy who was around even during the time of primitive man and now he was in a modern city, wearing all black, jumping off of a building as he tried to commit suicide for the umpteenth time and landing on the street and walking away as people look on in shock. He looked a bit older though, with grey hair.
I really don't think it was Vandal Savage (I've searched on the net for comic book immortals) and not Mr Immortal (or is he The Immortal Man) the one who wears blue and red and dies in funny ways.
So I read it in 1993 or so, so it would have to be before then. I'm pretty sure it was a Marvel or DC book.
Sorry, but I'm curious and it's been bugging me for months!

I have a very vague memory of something called "Leonard Nimoy's Immortal" from Dark Horse or some such with a green pterodactyl on the cover or something...

Well, there was Arion, the sorcerer from ancient Atlantis, who had his own title back in the early '80s. In the early '90s DC released another title where Arion turned out to be immortal and still kicking in the present day. Could that be it?

Sounds like the DC Comics character Mitch Shelley ("Resurrection Man"), but his first appearance was in 1997. Mitch frequently committed suicide as he attempted to gain access to improved superhuman powers.

As for your date range, the most popular immortal of 1992 was Valiant's "Eternal Warrior"; but I don't recall him being in any scenarios like you mention.

Thanks for trying!
I looked at those and it didn't seem like him. He wore skin-tight black with I think some silly utility belt. He had short grey hair and I think in the first couple of pages they show him jumping off of a building, landing head first then brushing himself off and asking a witness what the Hell they were looking at.
Maybe he was a guest appearance and it was another character's book.
