The image hosting service Imgur (owned by MediaLabs) recently decided to cease serving the United Kingdom. As a consequence of this decision a good proportion of visitors to the BBS are unable to see content hosted by Imgur that has been embedded within posts.
The staff have been discussing what to do. Banning Imgur content on the BBS seems impractical. However, we'd like to respectfully request that posters try to avoid using Imgur hosted content within threads to help ensure their content is seen and enjoyed by as many people as possible. We regret asking, but we want to do our best to include all our members in the full extent of the board and Imgur's decisions are, of course, out of our hands.
Some alternatives to Imgur we've used ourselves are ImgBB, PostImage, and Flickr. As a reminder, the TrekBBS premium membership fee (a mere $25 annuallly!
) allows for posting images directly as well as supporting the board, if you're interested.
