IMAXing????

I wish the movie were shot for IMAX 3D!! I'm gonna see it on IMAX as well. Already got the tix.

Since I am new to IMAX..isnt the screen SQUARE in shape? What would you gain by seeing it on a square screen when its filmed in widescreen...again, I am ignorant...so please let me know..

I've not yet seen a regular movie in IMAX format (Trek on the 8th will be my first), but from seeing IMAX-specific movies, the screen is usually a large, curved screen, stretching at quite a height and is not quite but almost a semi-circle.

IMAX screens are pretty big. I guess they're square if you straightened them out, but maybe something happens to the ability to project when the screen is curved for IMAX.

hmmm..well..I'm going to give it a try...gonna "sneek" out and see it on my own...will see it again on IMAX with wife...will the popcorn taste any better in an IMAX screening?

I was told the image will not fill up the entire screen, but will still be a nice clear image. The sound will be excellent, if sound is important to you.
