How do you remove information encoded in digital images?

Sometimes I'd like to be able to post an image without, say, the GPS coordinates of the thing I photographed, and I havent been able to figure out how to do that.

Anyone here know a simple solution to my problem?

You mean you want to strip the EXIF information, right?

Try one of these: Link

Yes, that, and: How about IPTC? -what kind of data is stored as IPTC photo metadata and do I need to be concerned about that too?

Thanks, again :bolian:

How about I just PM you next time I run into a problem :rommie:

ETA:
Tried it -that is a cool little app!

I'm two for two today!

I don't know anything about IPTC, though.

Do you have Picasa? It supposedly can modify (and thus remove) EXIF/IPTC data.

Don't I need to be all wired up to Google to use Picasa?

I mean, the GIMP isn't hardwired to a big ad agency and that little thing you mentioned above isn't either, so those are in line with my choice of sharing less information about myself, not more...

ETA:
Ah! "Picasa attaches IPTC keyword data to JPEG files, but not to any other file format. " and "Since June 2007 Picasa can write geographic coordinates to Exif metadata, thus geotagging an image."

It was just a suggestion. I'm not sure what you could use to strip IPTC data. It doesn't appear to be as widespread as EXIF!
