'the jj-prise' 'the rebootprise' 'the abramsverse' 'abrams trek' as if nutrek haters havent ruined society enough

I think plenty of fans of NuTrek also use these expressions, just to distinguish them from the old versions. It's kinda fun to just stick a Nu in front of everything. :)

How do you feel about "MU" for the mirror universe? As in MU Spock, or the usage of something like mirror-Kira?

What about referring the the Enterprise in TMP-TWOK-TSFS as "the refit?" You know, just because it a substantially altered design.

And then there's Berman-trek.

entity, there nothing about the nicknames attached to the Abrams movies that's in any way new, now is there?

hey OP now, don't make me go all nuKirk / nuKahn on yo ass

I'll have you thrown off the Apple iBridge

Meh....similar thing happened in the Doctor Who fandom. "STOP CALLING IT NUWHO! ITS THE SAME SHOW." Some do differentiate with 'Classic Who" and 'Modern Who'.

'Re-Imagined Battlestar Galactica'.

I 'think' of it as 'Alternate Timeline Trek' but usually refer to it as 'Alt-Trek' but that looks a bit weird...so I don't know what to call it.

Agreed in the case of DW, when the show was uncancelled in 2004 (for airing in 2005) it was as a continuation of the show.

Back in the olden days, the words 'Star Trek' only meant the original series and cast. Then Roddenberry screwed everything up by adding "The Next Generation" subtitle, so 'Star Trek' didn't mean just Kirk and Spock anymore. And all the TOS, TNG, DS9, etc. and a film simply titled Star Trek just sends everything right over the cliff. Thanks, Gene.

I just call it "Those sucky new fake Trek movies that get the whole concept completely wrong."

:p

I just listened to an interview with Robbie McNeil (it was mostly about his Directing career) but he referred to his time on Voyager as 'When I worked on Star Trek'. All throughout the interview he referred to it as 'Star Trek', Not 'Star Trek Voyager' or just plain' Voyager'. I wondered if all the other actors did the same thing "When I worked on Star Trek" and not "Deep Space Nine' or whatever.

I've definitely used "Abramsverse" on more than one occasion and I love the new movies. :techman:

So because I say NuTrek I've led to the downfall of human civilisation...? Excellent, I always knew I'd have a hand in it (and not just for joining Facebook)

Okay,

I am trying mightily to be patient as you are new. But this is straight up trolling.

Again...please review the board rules, and just spend some time reading threads to get a feel for the board.

This is your last friendly warning.

Thanks.
