The Original Post screams "Somebody feel sorry for me."
Life can seem like a really dirty trick. Stuff doesn't go right - or so we feel - and people hustle down the sidewalk as if you (or I) don't exist. There are days when no matter how much you smile and try to encourage people, a batch of folks comes along that just seems to have sprouted straight from hadies. Life is wierd like that.
There are two ways to react:
#1 - Assume life is about money. Then get mad because you don't have enough. Also assume that life is about people liking you. Then get mad because you have no friends.
#2 - Realize that life is about service. Then be glad that you have a chance to participate. Also realize that human relationships are about you encouraging and liking other people. Then open your eyes wide, slap a smile on your face, and run through the streets like James Stewart in It's A Wonderful Life.
#2 sounds like more fun. From experience, I can confirm that it is more fun.
To Supreme Admiral: You don't want to leave this board. If you did, you wouldn't have made this thread. What you want is sympathy. My advice? Stick around and don't worry about public opinion too much. After all, it's a Star Trek forum, not a political campaign.
