i'm SO geeky....

i'm so geeky i can quote entire exchanges of dialogue from Ghostbusters and Transformers the Movie.

i'm so geeky, i created my own fanfic universe of Trek stories. not just a series, but multiple series.

Is it considered geeky that, in a casual conversation with friends, I completely unconsciously quoted "A Clockwork Orange" ... three times ... my lit'le droogies?

It's definitely geeky that my friend noticed this fact

Just wondering .... :shifty:

I'm so geeky that I'm home alone on Friday night, reading a Star Trek message board.

I'm so geeky that I went out with friends, but then came back to spend the rest of my Friday reading a Star Trek message board and playing WoW. If only people knew!

I'm so geeky...

...that I went to see Star Wars in Concert last night. And it wast he second time I've been to see it. :)

When I was in university, my friends and I had the most enthralling discussions about cosmology and compact objects astrophysics over a many bottles of red Italian wine, in the smoky, foggy atmosphere one of the many wineries around the city. Those were truly glorious times!

That sounds great. When I was in University we had enthralling Mario Kart races over cans of cheap beer whilst sitting in piles of cigarette butts, discarded joints and plates of mouldy food. It was gross.

I'm so geeky I just went into our little office kitchen to make my morning cup of tea and heard myself say out loud, "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot," with the accent, of course.

I mean, I knew I said it in my head -- which was bad enough -- but I had always thought it was just part of my own private internal monologue. Apparently not. :alienblush:

LOL! And I suppose it's even geekier that, upon realizing this, the first thing I did was come and post it here.

That's hilarious!

I'm so geeky that when my kitty hisses at my dog, it reminds me of Darth Vadar and I start doing the 'Vadar breathing' and telling my dog I am his father.

I guess I'm so geeky that when my 13yr old sees a toy phaser in the store he elbows me in the side and says knowingly, "I know who wants that for Christmas!"

I'm so geeky, whenever I see someone wearing a red shirt, I say, “You're gonna DIE, dude!”
Ten years ago I was in the scifi section of a bookstore and my daughter, who was almost 3, yelled, “Look, mommy, little Enterprise!” and pointed to a TOS book. BBC was rerunning TNG and TOS at the time, and TOS had the “little Enterprise”. :)
Pretty damn bright for a 3-year-old, if she recognized the difference between the “big” and “little” Enterprises.

She knew the different bridges, characters ("Look, it's Woof!"), everything. She's 13 now and still way too bright for her own good. Two years ago I rekindled her interest in ST when she joined me in watching Voyager reruns. We now own every series on DVD and she knows way more about the all the series than I do. Good to know she's as anal as her mom. ;)

The best bit about the bookstore incident was the hysterical laughter coming from a couple a few aisles down (like all toddlers, my daughter yelled!). It was embarrassing at the time but I'm glad we made someone's day.

Your reaction to red shirts is awesome!

<<<look at my av, would a non geeky person even know what the hell that is?
I thought it looked cool, and was geeky enough to look it up. (Hadn't read past the first page yet, and so hadn't seen your link to the same entry. )

I have actually memorised the order in which the elements appear in Tom Lehrer's song "The Elements." (This is actually true. Meet me some day and I'll rattle it off flawlessly.)
Just being a fan of Tom Lehrer counts as geeky, I think. Memorizing the order is good for extra points.

Is it considered geeky that, in a casual conversation with friends, I completely unconsciously quoted "A Clockwork Orange" ... three times ... my lit'le droogies?
I'd say so, yes. Keep up the good work.

I'm also so geeky that I get my kicks from seeing "See You Next Wednesday" just as much as I do with seeing "See You Next Tuesday."

I'm so geeky I've seen them live. (Twice, I think.)

I'm so geeky that there are people I've never met who know of me for my work on conventions. Hell, I've had actors recognize me and address me by name when I'm attending a convention hundreds of miles from home. I'm sure that Ellen Muth now figures that if she's a guest at a con somewhere, she's going to see me there. (So far, it's happened three times, and I was only working on two of them. The third time, she came up to me at the airport and said, "Hi, remember me?")

Mind you, I have absolutely no objection to having Gareth David-Lloyd wink at me. None whatsoever.

In fact, my co-head in the Programming department at Polaris semi-seriously suggested a panel for this year called "Six Degrees Of [my name]", where people who know me could meet up and exchange stories. (I took it off the panel list on the website in the last update.)

Edited to add: I'm so geeky that I changed my mind about going to bed because Space just started airing the remastered version of "The Cage", and I've not seen it before. I'm also geeky because I noticed that they didn't use the remastered SFX to correct the blooper where the transporter technician's glasses went missing from one shot to the next.

I'm so geeky, that...I swear I am not making this up...the first time I learned how to ride the New York subway, I was so pleased with myself that I did pretty much nothing the rest of the day but just ride around to random destinations. I would call my dad at home whenever I got to a station and I'd say "Hey Dad, guess where I am now? I'm at...hang on...West 4th Street!" :D
I once did that with the DC metro. It got me to stations I never had visited before then, and since. It took a long while. It was for a paper for class years ago.

I'm so geeky that even my dreams are geeky. Last night, it was Superman (and civilians) versus the zombie hordes. As Superman, I was safe from the zombies, but I was trying to rescue all the civilians I could from the rampaging hordes.
