Well, I have seen TOS quite often and I didn't have any problems with ENT's continuity. Some people just get overly worked up about such things and forget that TOS itself didn't care much for its own internal continuity.

QFT - and as someone who's also a died in the wool TOS fan (and who saw the third season first run at the age of 6); the 'continuity issues' of ENT are vastly over-blown to extreme proportions. ENT fits quite well in TOS continuity. Thw worst TOS violation is probably the Romulan Cloaking devieces used on the mines and the Romulan ships in the second seeason episode Minefield. Other than that, most people who claim a TOS continuity violation honestly don't know TOS all that well, or believe common misconceptions about TOS that have persisted over the years such as:
"Spock was the first/only Vulcan in Starfleet."; etc. Which WAS NEVER stated or even infered by any line or situation presented in TOS - and in fact; the appearance of the '100% manned by Vulcans' USS Intrepid in the TOS episode The Immunity Syndrome pretty effectively blows that notion out of the water; yet in some circles, that notion still exists, and these folks try to rationalize away the USS Intrepid.
Again, the above just goes to show how over 40 years, it's HARD to recall every dit of minutae; thus ENT did a decent job of staying within Star Trek continuity as a whole (imo).
S4's worth it.
I only know that my personal criteria for owning anything on DVD is in how often I feel I will re-watch. If I don't think I will re-watch it a lot, it doesn't get bought. That's why my DVD collection looks a little weird--I don't have any Trek DVDs except the first four seasons of TNG. Honestlly, seasons 5-7 of TNG are probably the only ones I'll buy of Trek in the future.
I have enough of my favorite episodes of ENT on tape to keep me happy.
As for where it fits in with Trek as a whole, I'm probably not the best judge because I haven't seen all of DS9 or Voyager, and almost nothing of TOS (don't beat me with sticks!). Guess that's why I never had a problem with the continuity thing!

Now THIS I have to agree with. Not about DS9, that was always good, in fact, the utter shit that ENTERPRISE is in comparison, should get on it's knees to the greatnes that is DS9 AND apologize publicly for EVER daring to call itself STAR TREK, and.....

Okay, I'm better now......What was my orginal point?? Oh yeah,
ENTERPRISE is, in fact better in subsequent views, a fact I recently discovered myself when watching the DVD's. BUT, whatever you do, DON'T watch season three until last. It is absoultely the WORST thing that EVER happened to STAR TREK in ANY form, and should be ignored. I only have that season because it was a gift. If you must watch it, massive quantities of Valum and beer should be taken orally (or otherwise, your preference) first.
That said, (now that my own medicine is kicking in), ENTERPRISE isn't so bad the second time around.
Seasons 3 and 4 make for some pretty damned good Star Trek.

S4 is so great that I should include the entire series in my library, or do you mean that the only season worth buying is S4?
S4 has some big problems - the alternate universe rubbish and the last episode, of which far too much has been said already. That said, the last two seasons are very good. I still don't think it's worth having any TV series in your 'library'. There are so many other things not yet seen and not yet read.
Heh heh. This thread is a good example of "Check it out for yourself". Most people think seasons 3 and 4 are the best, but then some people hate three and some hate four. I thought 3 was really good and 4 was really interesting. Four showed another side of the vulcans and had my favorite mirror series episodes. 3 keep me interested in the battles and the fate of the earth. Even knowing the fate of the Earth 3 three was good enough to put that out of your mind during the episodes.
