I'm reinstalling my laptop for the 6th time...

I've had it 18 months.

This is the sixth time I've had to reinstall it.

First time - New machine, got it all going how I wanted it.
Second time - Fault in Bootcamp, corrupted windows, Bootcamp and Disk Utility failed to erase partition so did it from scratch.
Third time - No idea but Leopard failed to boot. Tried heaps of recovery methods but nothing happened.
Fourth time - New hard drive.
Fifth time - Snow Leopard upgrade.
Sixth time - "Snow Vista" decides it doesn't like booting up and even Disk Warrior can't get it's head around it. It keeps flashing like it's picking up an external monitor - CONSTANTLY!

This time is the last time. After this, I'm getting a new one. :)

Your post reminds me that I need to mirror my desktop C: drive. I recently installed Windows 7 to dual boot with XP. That way if my main drive fails I can pop in the copy and keep on keepin' on.

This time I'm going in with 4 partitions:
- Snow Leopard
- Leopard
- Windows 7
- Windows XP

FOUR TIMES THE REDUNDANCY!

Geez... four. I would definitely be mirroring that drive after all the work that would go into making it work properly.

I have VM but wanted to use bootcamp. I guess I may just stick with completely virtual and have back ups. Then if it does die again (COS IT WILL, I JUST KNOW IT) then at least I only lose Mac, and my Windows is safe.

Wopuld it not be less aggro to get a new, I know that they are the cheapest thing in the world but I'll save your sanity.

It could be bootcamp with Windows 7 that's part of your problem. Apple had promised support for it, but seems to have failed to delivery

The release of Windows 7 has had a number of Boot Camp users wondering about official support from Apple. Installing Windows 7 over Vista will give numerous advantages, even if for nothing more than to increase the stability of the operating system; however, because Apple has not officially supported Windows, our recommendation so far has been to hold off on using it under Boot Camp, and run it in a virtual machine instead.
While a number of people have been successfully using both the beta and official Windows 7 releases on their Macs in the Boot Camp environment, the lack of official support from Apple may result in odd and unexpected behavior. Most people who've noticed problems have found the multi-touch mouse drivers to not behave properly, but others have found the system to boot and run slowly, and in some cases refuse to boot back to OS X (1, 2). In October, Apple released a knowledgebase document claiming that Windows 7 would supported in Mac OS X Snow Leopard before the end of 2009; however, to date there has been no mention of an update from Apple (though to be fair, from the time of this posting they have about 16 hours left).

I used the Windows 7 beta for months on my Boot Camp partition and it worked flawlessly.

I used the Windows 7 beta for months on my Boot Camp partition and it worked flawlessly.

Was that a clean install or did you upgrade?

And what about trying it with the full release version?

Can you get XP Pro for it? If you can get the drivers for all your laptop equipment then please reformat the drive and install XP on it..that is what I did and it runs like lightning and no more problems.

Sorry, I'm talking Windows 7 Enterprise for businesses, which is a full version. I was only saying I was using the Beta / RC copies for a year beforehand and didn't have any problems.

Company policy is for a clean install every time. We never use the upgrade option.

Already have XP, but we're upgrading to 7.
