As to the subject of the emails, it doesn't affect me, so I don't care.

I don't receive e-mail like that. Spam mail, coming into MY inbox, cluttering up MY allocated space...

I love my e-mail spam filter. It deals with mail on a case by case basis.

I somewhat agree, but the complainer had no right to spam people and neither should he/she have accused persons who wouldn't forward the e-mail on as being part of the problem. That kind of rhetoric is not only a logical fallacy and downright insulting, but also in my opinion belies a lack of confidence in the merit of one's own argument.

I know a person who is in the USA illegally. She has a partner who she has been living with for a long time. If they were a heterosexual couple than my friend would be able to get married and have that marriage recognised by the immigration authorities and most likely my friend could eventually get permanent residency and citizenship. But she can't because neither the USA or Australia will accept gay relationships when it come to immigration. So my friend and her partner have to break the law to stay together.

The same thing happened to AlmostHarmless and his husband Thor. Though they had to leave the USA because their marriage wasn't recognised by immigration they at least could go to Thor's home country of Iceland which did legally recognised their marriage.

I think if you say that people should migrate legally than there should be a level playing field. I think very few countries do have this at the moment.
