I'm dating an older woman!

She did send a card inviting my girlfriend to go to an art exhibtion put on by her lesbian lover, but I burned it before my girlfriend got home.

You couldn't just throw it away?

Also, was this more "drunk art?" Because I'd like to hear more about that fascinating genre ...

You know, I'm feeling more and more uncomfortable every time I come to this bored. I'd like to say I'm surprised by some of the posts left in this thread, but I'm not at all. There seems to be a culture of nastiness developing here at TrekBBS and it sickens and saddens me. It's not just the comments directed towards me and my loved ones, I'm an adult and I can handle them (though I'd ask that you leave the kids out of it, thank you very much.) It's all the nasty remarks made to GoodWillRiker, one of the nicest, most polite well spoken gentlemen on this board. It's that thread ThankQ started where he confessed to masturbating over some of the girls who post here. What's most disturbing is that the moderators (with a few notable exceptions like Spiff and Bones) seem to be not only joining in with the nastiness but actually encouraging it. I noticed that even ex-moderator Killer Komet has noticed that nastiness and commented on it. Disturbing trends. What would Gene Roddenberry think?

Speaking of bullying, some kids were picking on Chuck (not his name, but I'm tired of saying "the boy") yesterday and I chased them off. I told him he shouldn't be ashamed of who and what he is and he should be himself and if he does that he can get through anything in life. I hope these words stick with him for a long time.

Things are going well with my girlfriend again. My cousin hasn't stuck her big nose in again. She did send a card inviting my girlfriend to go to an art exhibtion put on by her lesbian lover, but I burned it before my girlfriend got home.

I love those long winter nights, cuddled up in front of the fire with my wife and the kids. Does life get any better? I only wish that we never had to get old and we could stay like this for ten thousands of years.

You're tired of saying "the boy" but not "my girlfriend" (or wife now as you put in your last sentence)?

Alright...

Anyway, glad you're enjoying life and getting a good direction.

At the risk of being one of those moderators who are encouraging nastiness, I'll have to admit I've been disappointed so far. I figured the family dinner would lead to some real drama but all we got was the infamous "drunk art".

So, years from now when we look back and remember this show...which do you think will be remembered as the point where the shark was jumped ?

MB's story telling ability just hasn't been the same since his final episode last season. I don't know what happened, but he just snapped that day and the world hasn't been the same since.

I think the season ending before Squiggy could comment was what threw everything off. That's the moment I'll remember as the shark being jumped.

Wait..., I'm not sure what I did.

Did I do something wrong?

You're really batting 1.000 these days. Maybe you should have the Yankees sign you to a minor-league contract.

Nah, that's long past, although I suppose he could circle around and jump it again if you like?

First jump was one of the first posts of season 2, where he admitted making up the last few posts of season 1 in order to 'wrap things up' fittingly for a finale. Kinda kills it right there. And then there was season 2, where he had some serious continuity problems (reading 1000s of pages in about an hour, with comprehension, or disappearing for a day and advancing the plot by a couple weeks, etc). Season 2 was also famous for the part where another poster pointed out that names AND plot for a few of his posts had been lifted directly from a book.

If you want to call out Season 3 for being boring and pointless, that's fine, with unneeded cameos and dead plot threads, but leave the shark out of it. At this point, he's a recurring character, almost a regular. Madbaggins and the shark have been jumping each other for a while now. :techman:

Ew.

Okay, I figured out why this season's drama is not -- dramatic. There has been a creative decision tha the story itself will not have drama. The drama has to come from the other posters. Pretty clever. ;)

Had a major breakthrough with Chuck yesterday evening. He called me "dad" by mistake then looked embarrassed. I said I didn't mind. He said his real dad is a "fuckface" (I didn't approve of the language but I didn't want to stop him talking during this breakthrough) and that he would rather have me as a dad. I said I would be proud to call him my son. YES!

My girlfriend is away finalizing the divorce (she said they had to do it out of state because they were married out of state...or something, I wasn't really listening, legal talk bores me) and when she comes back it will be the start of the next chapter of our lives together. Our long perfect lives together. I'm hoping AT LEAST sixty years together, but that would make her over 90 when she dies. I think she can do it, life expetancy is going up all the time.

When did this beome a boring family drama? This is like an episode of Our House or a bad after-school special.

I'm guessing this is a hint that we'll have some major development when she gets back. I'm guessing she'll get back together with her husband.
