"I'm afraid he's suffering from brain damage"

At first I thought "Oh no, not another topic about Charlie Sheen".

However this is a different topic, I like it.

All I can think of, and shocked no one said, is John on Farscape! I mean really! The amount of crap they did to his head he should really be dead.
That's what I thought too.

Same.

Tim from Home Improvement got hit on the head a lot. Also, I've forgotten just how many times Giles got hit on the head . I've got to do a Buffy re watch some time when I can.

David Banner on the original Incredible Hulk series was knocked unconscious by being hit over the head in at least eight different episodes.

Chuck, Sarah and Casey. Of course, since they're the worst spies in the world, they also get captured every other episode.

Lex Luthor on Smallville was famous for this...and as others have mentioned it's become a bit of an inside joke on the show now.

But he gets a pass, because his Hulk transformation regenerated any injuries he sustained. Presumably that would include neurological damage. True, his brain function was impaired when he was in Hulk form, but he always recovered his full intellect afterward.

Well, Wyle E. Coyote should've been outright dead. Animated characters don't count, huh?

Yeah, Lost's Ben Linus. Guy got beat so much.

Jim Rockford of The Rockford Files? He got beat up a lot, too.

Someone on Lost suffered major head trauma in almost every episode. Kate in particular used to get knocked out a lot. That island was awesome. They had torches that would never burn out all over the place and you practically had to decapitate someone before their brain would stop working.

I don't know.. but every main character in every book ever has to be knocked unconscious at least once. Authors love to finish chapters with "and that was the last thing he saw before his world went black."
What kind of books are you reading?

I read a lot of different stuff. Next time you read a novel just wait for it. It's a law that one character has to be knocked unconscious. :)

is there a TV Character out there who gets knocked up over the head more than Mulder (maybe Scully)?

Years ago we used to laugh about the number of times that TJ Hooker's partner, Romano, got injured. As I haven't seen it in 20 years I can't really recall how true it is, though!

Smallville for the win.

Basically, any character who didn't know Clark's secret needed to get knocked out on a regular basis so that they wouldn't see him doing super-stuff. Once you found out the truth, your risk of concussion dropped dramatically.

"Clark, you need to tell Lois your secret!"

"To prove that I trust her, so we can have a real relationship?"

"No, dummy. So she doesn't have to get knocked out every week!"
