Im a TOS Purist and... (Spoilers)

shatastrophic

Commander
Red Shirt
I thought it was wonderful. Visually pleasing, story pacing was nice. The only negative things were him being a captain within 3 years, the corvette, and the beastie boys. Other than that, this purist is happy! It is what it is, a product of what is popular now.

Well, him being a captain was a byproduct of saving the world and this new timeline. Nobody wants to see Kirk be on the Farragut for the first three movies.

yeah the promotion was sorta quick and i wish they had worked in the stuff from the dossier that kirk wasnt just a simple cadet but was already an instructor too.
but for while some fans had theorised that kirk had skipped some steps along the command line.

i am probably wrong but some how i thought alan dean foster had something in one of his tas adaptations.

but they get so much right i can over look that.

I've been an inveterate Trekkie since the first airing of "Miri" in 1966 and this was an amazing relaunch. I haven't been this excited about a Trek film since after seeing FC and it's leaving me with a similar feeling that I had after watching TWOK. Some nitpicks but generally excited. This will be a multiple theatre watching experience. I'll probably be dragging people kicking and screaming.

Trekgasm it is.

I may be overstating it. :)
