Vaughn Armstrong.

He's my favorite actor of all time (Trek or otherwise). He reminds me a lot of my dad. I think it'd be cool to have pizza and beer with him. At a ball game, if possible. :techman:

Re: If you won a dinner date with any regular Trek actor, who would it

I chose Leonard Nimoy. I looked upon this as more of an opportunity to sit and talk with this man who's been with Trek longer than anyone. What an amazing opportunity. He certainly isn't the sexiest. I'd pick one of the women for that, but as long as we kept our hands off each other, it would be an amazing, once in a lifetime experience.

Come to think of it, if we didn't keep our hands off each other, it would still be a once in a lifetime experience.

Well, if I'm going for purely shallow reasons
Those are always the best! :bolian:

Well... fantastic then!
MY REASONING IS JUSTIFIED!
And perhaps after dinner I would force him to go horse-riding..... just because he can ride horses and I own a horse XD

Okay.... I've finished being odd..... well.... for now...

Avery Brooks; I grew up in a sense with DS9, so Sisko was "my" captain. I don't see a lot of him in interviews and the like, so I'd be interested in seeing what he's like in person.

And I love his flying cars commercial....

William.Shatner.
He is god. Nuff said.

Re: If you won a dinner date with any regular Trek actor, who would it

Nicole de Boer. We hardly got to know Ezri. Wouldn't mind if they did ST: Aventine.

Definitely Leonard Nimoy! He just seems like such a warm, kind and intelligent guy. He's a beautiful person, inside out, and there aren't many of those, or at least I haven't seen many. I don't know, he radiates positive energy. And it touches me deeply that someone with his talent and accomplishments is so modest and down to earth. That's a great thing.

Besides, I'd love the opportunity to tell him that I love both him and Spock, that I'm aware of the difference between actor and character. I was really impressed with what he said in his books about his relationship with Spock, that he felt frustrated at the thought that when people told him they loved him they actually meant they loved Spock. I imagine that's rather painful.

I win, I win.

I've had a private afternoon tea with Grace Lee Whitney in LA, another with George Takei in his house, and bought dinner for Billy Van Zandt (TMP) at a NYC restaurant. I have dined with Judson Scott (table for four) in Sydney and, in December 1991, was invited to Majel Barrett's Hollywood mansion, where she made me a seafood dinner and was driven there and back again in Gene's famous yellow limousine. Also bought lunch for Leonard John Crofoot (Robot Lal) in LA while interviewing him for Starlog's TNG magazine.

And then there's the dinner pictured above, in Sydney, Australia (1984), where I introduced George Takei to the delights of Balmain bugs (bizarre Australian seafood).

Marina Sirtis would be my pick:techman::)
Im not saying that the others arent interesting, though.
I bet one could have interesting coversation with Leonard Nimoy about life and photography..and with Roxann Dawson would be cool to talk about directing:bolian::cool:

Re: If you won a dinner date with any regular Trek actor, who would it

You mean like on a date date?

Well, first of all, I would rule out anybody but Blalock, Park, and Lien (and if we include nuTrek actresses, Saldana  ). I think these are the only women who are not more than 10 years older than me.

According to Wikipedia, Blalock and Lien are married, and Saldana is currently engaged (:(). However, I didn't find any infomation that Park is in a relationship. So I gotta go with her. Which is not a bad thing, actually. She's kind of cute and seems to be a very nice person. And she's actually the youngest of all of them. I guess I could date a 32-year-old.

Sorry if I have approached this topic too Vulcan-like. It seemed... logical. :p But I might have picked Park anyway. Well, after Saldana (I think you've got the picture  ).

As for a non-date date... tough choice. There are a couple of actors and actresses I admire. Gotta go with Leonard Nimoy though. Again, it seems logical. ;) And this guy is pretty awesome...

Voted Linda Park.

I think a better question for you Therin is, "What Trek actors have you NOT met?" :p

Re: If you won a dinner date with any regular Trek actor, who would it

Tough choice. I wanted to say either William Shatner or Patrick Stewart, but I want a good, solid conversation on this dinner, and to be honest, these two men are way too big and powerful, so I picked someone who was very talented, but more down to earth and gregarious, and someone who would have many similar interests as myself, and so I chose John Billingsley.

Re: If you won a dinner date with any regular Trek actor, who would it

LeVar Burton. In addition to just seeming like a nice guy and of course, his role in Trek, his Reading Rainbow program taught me at a young age just how great reading is.

Re: If you won a dinner date with any regular Trek actor, who would it

I'm afraid I'm not very original. I'd go with either Stewart or Nimoy. They've done so much non-Trek stuff I'd love to talk about.

I've met lots more, but I only listed the ones I've eaten meals with in more intimate circumstances than a random encounter.

Re: If you won a dinner date with any regular Trek actor, who would it

I'd say Leonard Nimoy, though William Shatner and Scott Bakula are close seconds (Bakula might even edge Shatner out slightly). I think they would both be very interesting and engaging to chat with, but Nimoy just slightly more so; he seems extremely philosophical.
And please don't take this as critical sarcasm, but I'd sincerely like to talk to him about the new movie and try to understand why he seemed to like it so much. If anybody could "convert" me, it would probably be him.

I'm just sad that he's sworn off conventions now. I'm sure that's as close as I'd ever get. At this point, Bakula's probably the only one left that I'd go to a convention to see (and I still need to get his autograph for Noel's collection).
