I would have like to see DS9's gravitaton emitter hit w/a full array of QT's, by the Defiant before being badly damaged by DS9,

The fleet + Klingons arrive before the female SS can escape. She's captured, held, and used as pawn to broker a peace treaty. Thus ending most hostilities and opening up S7 to more opportunities to expand the characters and close the war and the series

"In yon strait path a thousand
May well be stopped by three:
Now who will stand on either hand,
And keep the bridge with me?”

It could have been cool to see a sort of space Thermopylae, where a couple of ships make it to the wormhole and destroy the Dominion ships as they came through. They could potentially retake the station and involve it in the battle but that would probably require another episode.

Fire all weapons on Ops - breaching the Hull, causing forcefields to be raised around the holes and trapping the female shapeshifter.

Capture said shapeshifter and tell the Dominion they will send her into the Bajoran sun unless they surrender

The Prophets, appearing as bearded white men riding chariots, should have come screaming out of the wormhole, shooting lightning bolts at the station and turning Dukat into a pile of goo.

(If people are going to complain about deus ex machina, make it real.)

Sisko isn't able to convince the Prophets to help and the Dominion Fleet comes through the Wormhole at full strength, chasing the Defiant into the AQ. The war intensifies and all hope looks lost as the Federation-Klingon Alliance is beaten back on all fronts.

The fleet is sent back in time 2000 years...where it founds the Dominion in the first place.

Nonlinear solution...

I would just have put in a scene where we actually find out what happened to all those damn Jem'Hadar ships.

They actually did this over in the Star Trek Online MMO. While not technically cannon, a good story.

The Prophets are creatures that are not a part of linear time. But they also are not killers or destroyers. Once the Dominion Fleet went in, it had to come out somewhere, and somewhen.

In the game it shows up 30 years late for the battle. Promptly goes all "Japanese Soldier Marrooned on an island" on everyone. Takes over DS9. Etc.

We did find out what happened to them. They disappeared. ;)
I 'd say they left the worm hole in the Delta Quadrant (because the prophets have the power to redirect the entrances of the temple/worm hole). There they were fighting a devastating war against the Borg and (almost) had an encounter with Voyager.
