NX-01 as captain. No dog as a pet. Maybe a tiger trained to hunt Romulans. And Trip would not be the one fooling around with T'Pol. Improving Vulcan relations would fall under the duties of the captain.

Call me crazy, my choice would be Voyager. Voyager is not too big, not too small. Capt Janeway would be a great Capt so serve under, and any ship that has 7 of 9 gets my vote.

Granted, living in the DQ for 7 years would be a drag, however, getting so see things that no other Federation ship besides Equinox has seen would make all the trouble worthwhile.

I would be in the current time frame on a TNG area Romulan Warbird as Commander. Jadzia as my Subcommander, Worf as Chief of security, Beverly Crusher as the MO, Robin Lefler as my Second Officer, that Bajorian form Lower decks (Can't remember her name), and Geordi because he can fix anything. I would be drinking all the Romulan Ale I want. WHY? because for me, its legal and easy to get.
