If You Could Own 1 TOS Prop, Costume or Set....

I was tempted to claim the crystal-encased Enterprise from "Catspaw," but I believe that's in the Smithsonian.

Hey, maybe an Horta Egg (uncracked)?

I'd say a set of Spock ears from TOS (since Kirk's chair is already taken).

Since we're claiming imaginary wish-fulfillment sets, props, and costumes, I think you can have the chair, too, if you want it. As long as we're imagining stuff we can't really have, might as well dream big! ;)

Thanks!

I'll also take a phaser (the one that looks like a gun, not the electric razor), a communicator, and you know? That special looking Saurian Brandy bottle.

I have no idea where I'd put it, but I'd like the fullsize shuttlecraft exterior mockup...please.

I want the 11 foot U.S.S Enterprise studio model that now resides in the Smithsonian Institute Air and Space Museum.

In that case, I want Helen Noel, Yeoman Mears, Nona, and Losira.

I have a couch they can sit on.

I would treasure the Captain's chair, the center seat where animus and anima, will and heart are properly in balance; the nexus of the vessel that took me on so many wonderful adventures as a child, with flawed but admirable people who go about trying to do good while being loyal to each other.

What a great show!

Well, if it were mine to award, I'd give it to you for this lovely summary. ;)

"Have you ever seen any of the TNG props (like the transporter console or hand ohasers) or the sets (like a section of corridor or the warp core) up close? Cheap plastic you could probably break with your hands. And the props look like toys from Toys'R'Us"

The TNG bridge was so biege! (literally and metaphorically) so drab, it seriously reminded me of some kind of lounge at a Holiday Inn, and all that empty negative space around the helm consoles reminded of a kid's play area.

Captain's chair looked comfy.

:)

^^ The set was supposed to look more exotic and less conventionally operational so in that sense it succeeded. But is was so very beige and it looked to have a lot of wasted space. Overall I don't find it to be dynamic in any way and rather boring to look at.

Thing is, the bridge looked so much better in seasons one and two when they had someone who knew about dramatic lighting. Season three and on, it really came across as the waiting room at the hospital. The lighting in the latter seasons did the set no favors.

True. I much prefer the lighting in the first two seasons.

Technically, it's not TOS, but since there is no separate sub-forum for it, I'd want the master character study cels and conceptual development illustrations of Lt. M'Ress from the animated series. The only "production" cel I'd like would be that shot of her pointing in "The Practical Joker" as that one came closest to looking like the master study cels. I think the only person I might have to "fight" for them would be Therin. ;)

Sincerely,

Bill
