If you could get them to...

Come to think of it, that would be the perfect way to infiltrate the Trek board for a Trek actor. To just use their own names as their username. Kind of like how Bryan Cranston walked around a convention wearing a Walter White mask.

I'm sure Kate Mulgrew would be flattered (and flustered!) upon reading the "How is Janeway sexy" thread. I think she might even approve of my username, maybe.

I think Mulgrew is particularly popular now because she found a role that gave her a better chance to show off her talent than Trek ever did.

I met her once when her husband was campaigning at my college.

She definitely got a career resurgence with OITNB. She's lucky. Most actors only get one defining role and then everything after is less than. Look at Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Was she nice when you met her?

I've read rumors that Chase Masterson (DS9's "Leeta") actually did come here and post for a while. Unfortunately, she was treated disrespectfully (understatement), so she left.

Did she let them know it was her or did people find out? An actor or actress posting on a forum and letting the population know its them seems like a quick way to catch some flak. Negativity is especially gonna come from the folks that didn't like their character or show. What a shame tuu since they're still people and aren't defined by a single role.

That, I don't know. What I did hear was that the response she got from (ahem) certain portions of the TrekBBS community included a lot of sexual innuendo.

Assuming the rumors are true, it's not the kind of response we need to give to a working professional who takes her craft seriously, and who came here specifically to give back to her fans.

If you could get the remaining actors from all the iterations of Star Trek to commit to reading "The Trek BBS" for a week, what kinds of things do you think they would have to say?

Would they be surprised?, pleased?, upset?

What would they say?

There are a number of posters I have seen in my time at Trek BBS that are very vocal about how much they have just an out and out venomous hatred the TNG-ENT Berman era (which is the vast majority of Star Trek, BTW) to the point of irrational and deranged nastiness. I think it would be reasonable to assume that the majority of Star Trek actors would be astonished that a site that is supposedly dedicated to fandom to the Star Trek franchise, has such a high amount of people claiming to be star trek fans that bash either the actors themselves on a personal level, characters they played, or the show they were on, as much as what goes on at this site. It would probably be confusing, offensive, and maybe even hurtful to them.
