Leonard Nimoy would be a critically acclaimed star who featured in a string of Kubrick films before downgrading to Coppola, and doing the odd Hitchcock number. He would have three Oscars for Best Actor, and one for Best Director for Schindler's List, which Steven Spielberg produced. Spielberg had initially wanted Roman Polanski to direct, but Nimoy's early films had changed his mind.

In later life he would be considered not just a Hollywood grandee, but a kingmaker, as presidential candidates would travel to the remote and mysterious Nimoy Estate to seek his blessing and his substanial financial backing.

Ultimately, his obituriaries would note him as a praised character actor, who created so many distinctive performances he could never be remembered for merely one of them.
