If the end of the episode "The Defector" played out differently and a battle took place what would the outcome have been?

I believe that sustained fire from both of the Romulan Warbirds would have destroyed or crippled a slightly weakend Enterpise in the opening moments of the batte. Tomalak's Warbird would have recieved most of the Enterprise's attention and be heavy damaged. It would soon be picked off by one of three Klingon Birds of Prey. The remaining Romuland Warbird would manage to pick off one of the three Klingon Birds of prey before being destroyed itself. Leaving two surviving Klingon Birds of Prey.

Probably something like that, only I'm not sure the warbirds would have managed to knock out any of the Klingon ships. Assuming the warbirds focus on Enterprise first, by the time Enterprise gets destroyed each warbird has been taking fire from two ships, they're fortunate if either of them is still battle capable.
