If the Doc can do it, why not Missy-Master?

We don't actually know how much of the Yana backstory was true. He ran off to the end of the universe, but his claims of being found as a child could have been invented. He could have just been there a few decades, handful of heartbeats to a timelord. Unlikely the Doctor met him though.

I know, still if he did spend only a few decades among the refugees than he would have still been aging at a normal human rate, as he was turned human by the chameleon arch. So even if it were a younger version of the Jacobi incarnation, it's likely Jacobi himself would be too old to play him.

Although, I have read a few compelling theories to suggest Yana really was a separate incarnation from the Master who fought the Time War. Of note, John Simm's ring has thirteen stars on it (representing a Time Lord's full life cycle) with three bolder than the rest, perhaps indicating the Simm incarnation is the third of this particular regeneration cycle. Meaning that after the Eric Roberts incarnation we have an unknown War Master, Yana, Mr. Saxon, and now Missy.

Meh, why not? Presumably regeneration can produce something different than the typical human/Gallifreyan norm.

The Master was possessing Nyssa's father Tremas.

He didn't cast off his old body like a husk, but if he did convert his body into energy to consume and renovate Tremas, I would doubt if there's much to any Gallifreyan biology in there.

The possession process gave the Master, a hair cut, a dye job, trimmed his beard and awarded him a snappy her suit.

Can Trakanians regenerate?

Meh.

In the 5 Doctors the Timelords offered this "Trakanian" a new cycle of regenerations, and Mawdren Undead suggests the regeneration process is something they did to themselves, rather than a lucky hand from dealt by Evolution.

Of course if the Doctor's TARDIS can turn himself into a human being and back again, the Masters TARDIS should be able to turn himself into a Galifreyan again after finding himself too Trakanian or kittycatlike.

Getting cats to act is the problem.

So, the cat sits there licking himself while John Simm and Michelle Gomez deliver all the dialogue. They occasionally treat Cat Master with unusual deference to indicate he's the earliest Master present.

Well I think a great candidate would be the professor on the ship from the 1983 11TH Doctor Who where we got the ice warrior.. he also played the controller in the Movie TRON.. he would make a great past Master.. not to mention blow everyone's mind being there on a submarine in 1983, and with a captured Icewarrior!

David Warner has played the Doctor twice for Big Finish, in a "what if" series where the timelords gave the third Doctor a different face and dropped him off in 1999 instead of 1970. Nicholas Courtney costars.

:)

He's also played Mycroft Holmes in the Doctor Who Universe a couple times too.

For an entire minute.

You want to think he's hard, but #### it, that lad got taken out by Samantha from Sex and the City.

I saw Dave in Omen when I was 5.

TV in my room, Mommy didn't have a chance.

:D

The Simm's Master was on Gallifrey when it wasn't destroyed, and he could have been in that Painting and snuck out at any moment.

What about a location?

You could have a couple Master's try to rescue their younger self on Skaro before his own execution? That way they could allude to Ainley, conform to continuity, and not actually have to use an Zombie magic.

(Still about the movie)

If the Master had won, and drained the Doctors remaining lives into the rotting Human Eric Roberts Body, and triggered a regeneration crossspeciesly into a Gallifreyan that would have been the Doctor's next life... The War Master?

^ Actually, the oddly positioned hand we assumed was Clara's, was really the Master's.

They have the same taste in jewelry.
