If the Captains were real life bosses, would work under them?

I'd prefer to work for Picard but I suppose Sisko would be a somewhat close second. I think I'd be way more afraid of pissing off Picard though, never seen Sisko tell someone off the same way Picard did to the Bajoran ensign in "Lower Decks". It may have been fake but I would've probably just cried if someone said that to my face. Absolutely not Kirk. Keep your shirt on, sir.

I would gladly work under either Picard or Sisko. Janeway and I would probably kill each other. Kirk...just no, and Archer...he might be all right to work for.

Keep in mind that if you’re working under Sisko, Kira is second-in-command. If you can’t handle a smoke-coming-out-of-the-ears verbal thrashing, that’s probably not the place for you.

I don't know if I'd want to work with any of them. Remember this is basically a military lifestyle. If you don't shave or something you could be hauled off to the brig!
We've seen plenty of Starfleet officers get away with insubordination or disobeying orders. And if shaving was an issue, Riker would've had to get rid of his beard and Sisko couldn't have his goatee. Just maintain a professional look. ;)

I feel the same way about Sisko. About the only way to get on his bad side is to betray his trust, which is what Eddington did. He strikes me as otherwise the most reasonable of the captains. He also seems the most likely to care about your welfare.
Kirk routinely expressed concern about his crew's welfare. Picard wouldn't even know your name (of course, he did have over one thousand people on his ship).

I’d want to work under Harriman. I like being smarter than my boss. It’s easier to impress them that way.
We don't really have any idea of how intelligent Harriman was or was not. The man got forced into a crappy situation with a ship that wasn't fully outfitted. He tried to come up with solutions, but none of them were possible because he didn't have the necessary equipment.

[...] though I'm a TOS fan there is no way that I would want to have Kirk as my boss because without Spock or Bones he 's quite useless.
Just because he valued the input of his crew doesn't make him "useless." He did, after all, rise to the rank of captain and had previously been identified as an outstanding officer before commanding a starship of his own. Kirk received input on the go and made quick decisions, knowing the ultimate responsibility was his. Picard held full-fledged staff meetings.

Hmm...Archer's a whiner who can't decide if he wants to be tough or sympathetic, so working for him would get tiresome, never knowing what to expect.

Picard is awesome, but he'd be rather aloof to work under unless one was relatively high up in his chain of command. Not necessarily unfriendly, just...standoffish, I would think. So it would depend on what the job involved.

I'd find Janeway annoying and would probably end up questioning her orders, which would either make her respect me or result in being thrown in the brig for a month or two. But she does care about her crew so it might not be too bad.

As for Kirk...I don't know. He's not as standoffish as Picard, or as annoying as Janeway...and he's more consistent than Archer. As far as command styles go he seems to me to be the in-between. He values his crew's/officers' input and is an awesome guy to have your back...all in all, yeah, I'd work for him.

And then there's Sisko. I was going to write a long list of adjectives, but The Sisko is himself an adjective. He's THE SISKO! I'd definitely work for Sisko - given the choice, I'd choose him over all the others. He's the kind of leader you can be friends with, the kind of guy who's got your back, the kind of boss who will tear a strip off you for your misbehavior and then quietly imply that he'd do the same thing. Not to mention the fact that he will absolutely destroy anyone who messes with his station, his crew, or his friends. Yes, Sisko's definitely my first choice. But I'd work under the others too.

On second thought...The Sisko's tied with El Robau. NuPike is a close second, Kirk's third, Picard is fourth, Janeway fifth and Archer sixth.

I'd work for Kirk any day. The guys got integrity and cares about his employees, a rare trait in bosses these days.

I'd work for Picard, but he'd get on my nerves a bit.

Hey, how about some other folks??? I'd work under Riker in a heartbeat, love to be second in command for Mr. Scott and I'd be Head Nurse for Bones any day!

Picard would be the best to work for. Kirk would be next. I'd be afraid Sisko would kick my ass if I made a mistake. Janeway and Archer are evil and stupid, respectively.

Nope, but that's mainly because I couldn't work for a military organization. I have trust issues with authority and am far too fond of my own skin to obey orders that could get me killed.

We're clearly talking about a situation where these men would be your boss at a traditional job, not whether or not you'd serve under them in Starfleet. That's why it says "real life bosses" in the title.

I'd work for Picard, there are entire books written about his leadership style. He's intelligent and has a fair and open mind. He's disciplined and knows how to separate his personal feelings from his professional duties.

Janeway would be unpredictable, but she's a smart woman and would probably be fun to be around.

Sisko is really intense, I'm not sure he'd be a good person to work for if you were someone outside of his inner circle. Not that he'd do a bad job, I'm just talking personality wise here.

Archer is a nice guy that seem like he would probably to well in a customer service environment.

Kirk? I'd be friends with Kirk, but as a boss? The man does one thing well, he's a ship's captain. I can't imagine that character in any other setting, he's practically a cartoon.

Man, what if your assistant manager was Mirror Spock? Try explaining a mishap to that guy!

"Your agonizer, please..."
