It *is* a distinct timeline, but from Spock Prime's personal order-of-events, it is one continuity. Don't be so linear. Did Q teach you *nothing* in "All Good Things"?![]()
Considering Hardy seems to think that Trek at least partially contributed to temporarily ruining his life, I wouldn't bet on him being keen to come back.

Have tom hardy as a younger picard.
Around the time that data is activated.

Include beverly's husband.
So i say, bring me something new...
It has been the same thing for almost 50 years. Changing the ship, the characters, the century and what you call the technology isn't really making it different.I really enjoy Trek and am a huge fan of it, but I don't think i could stand it if it was all the same thing over and over and over and over and over again. For thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, a hundred, two hundred years.
That just it. You can tell all sorts of stories with in the Star Trek format. You don't have reinvent the wheel to be "different".Star Trek can be very varied. For eg. If not for the name in the title, would you ever guess that 'Far Beyond the Stars' and 'More Trouble, More Tribbles' were parts of the same franchise?
Patrick Stewart was really angry with the fans when they criticized them and the movie Nemesis and stated he won't be doing any more TNG movies. So if there is any TNG set in the Abrams Universe, iti will have to be with different actors.
Which of course will be younger and edgier and more attractive and oversexed.
Which is not a Trek I want to watch.
I don't want a Star Trek 90219 metro sexual junk.
People are using the word 'Metro,' but I don't think they know what it means.
'Metro' only refers to people's appearance guys (clothes, hair etc). That thing that's lifted near identically from the original show.
