If Sooke became a vampire...

We've noticed that Alan Ball has taken some liberties with Southern Vampire Mysteries on True Blood. So I was wondering what if he decided to have Sookie get turned into a vampire by either Bill or Eric as a consummation of their love? What would your reaction to that be? Do you think Sookie taking a vampiric turn would improve her character or lessen it?

That's too drastic of a change to fly with fans of the book series.

It would completely change the relationship between Sookie and just about every other character.

The reason Sookie works, is that she's an "outsider" looking in on a world in which she's not a part of, but has only just started to connect with (due to her special nature no doubt)

If they ever reveal Sookie as a "Super" (Most likely a Changling of the Sidhe) then her character should maintain her heart and perspective most of all and never go all the way over to the other side. (She's the viewpoint character after all)

Well, those of us who have read all the books know her true nature, but I won't spoil it, as I'm sure Ball will work it in somewhere in this season or next (provided there's a next) and I agree with Technobuilder, it would ruin her realtionship with the humans and supers alike. Right now, she's the balancing act, a fact that becomes much more of a factor in the books. She keeps the two sides at bay, so to speak.

Admittedly I haven't read the books yet, but I have skimmed wikipedia summaries of the characters back before the show debuted to see if I'd be interested in it.
