If sea levels rise by 10 meters

How will your home fare?

I have been looking at this site and discovered that at 10 meters half my seaside surburb will disappear but as I am on the hill side of the suburb my house will be safe.

My surburb is circled in red. The suburb I previously lived in is in blue.

The city center remains largely intact though the dock areas (orange arrow will be lost).

Many of the Eastern Shore suburbs that are south of my surburb will become islands (circled in yellow) and the airport (black arrow) will be totally flooded. It would be hard to relocate the airport as flat land will be scarce. It will probably have to be located at least another 20 km out of the city.

Using the website - will your home/town/city be under water? You don't have to provide maps unless you want to go to the bother.
On the whole Hobart wil fare reasonably well, especially on the Western Shore, with most residential and business areas still intact.

Yeah it's fixed. Now then, with a 10 meter rise in water levels, since i live inland, i would be fine. However, the Ports of LA/Long Beach would be gone. As would a good portion of the current beaches in Orange County.

With a 14 meters rise "the beach" would be 100 meters from my house.

I have looked at how Adelaide and Melbourne would fare at 10 meters and they would lose a lot of area especially Melbourne.

Los Angeles County would actually be "largely" fine. Most of the coast would remain largely the same. Of course, the port complex would be totally gone.

If you look at my top map you will see an area called Battery Point

The "Progress Committee" of that surburb have complained about the following

1) They didn't want a boardwalk put in along the foreshore (I gather they didn't want riffraff like me walking near their houses).

2) The said that helicopters shouldn't be allowed to fly over their suburb during the regatta because it spoilt the character of their suburbs. They are quite alright with helicopters flying over other suburbs.

3) The wanted a coffee shop to stop roasting coffee because the smell upset them.

With a 10 meter rise the poshest houses in Battery Point will be gone.

I wouldn't be affected at all (unfortunately, I would like the sea a little closer ;)), but north-east Italy would be fucked.

I'd be fine, but I'd have a nice moat running around my city since it's on a "hill" (like, 2 metres above the rest)
