If Lucas authorized another 3, which Eu should it be based on?

1. I would love to see the Yuuzhan Vong war done Clone Wars-animated style (to get around using the original cast if they wouldn't come back. Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford might be willing to do voice work though)
2. Dark Empire-Clone Wars animated style as well
3. Tales of the Jedi
4. Darth Bane novels
5. Thrawn trilogy-Clone Wars animated style

Though Knights of the Old Republic (the video games) look pretty cool, I haven't played them so I can't really recommend them.

I like most of the ideas presented here so far. The Thrawn Trilogy and/or Dark Empire would definitely be the EU stories that would translate the best to movies.
If we're talking about animating a TV series, I'd like to see something set between ANH and ESB.
Whatever is done, should be done Clone Wars animated style (CGI)

The Wars EU is no more "canon" to Lucas than the Trek novels are to TPTB at Paramount. Some Star Wars fans have simply talked themselves into believing otherwise.

The EU is canon to itself. Basically any use of the C-word in reference to the EU simply reflects the fact that, unlike Trek, there's a single unified continuity for all of the Star Wars tie-in material (with a few specific exceptions).

Some say that it's gotten bogged down in its own weight after all this time, but I like it; the structure allows them to make entire novels focused around characters who never appeared in the movies, but who have taken on a central role in earlier novels.

Trek has started down this path with the DS9 Relaunch and similar efforts to generally good effect. However, they don't have to put a special label on a book just to mark it as out-of-continuity like Star Wars does.

The later books have gotten too self referential. Which is why if anything is made into a movie, I'd prefer the Thrawn trilogy. It was first so there was no extra material needed(besides the original trilogy).
