If Klingons appear in next movie

I was under the impression they wore those helmets because they were ashamed of their smooth heads.

I for one hope there is no mention of the genetic tinkering we saw in Enterprise. It's a distraction. Just keep the foreheads and give them different uniforms. However, I hope they don't lose the idea, introduced in the TNG ep Heart of Glory, that the Klingon uniform contains concealed weapons. I always liked that concept. And it would be cool to see Kirk grab a bat'leth and start wreaking havoc!

My thoughts, have them look very similar to the way they looked in STXI, keep the masks on for the most part, as far as the make up goes when you do see them, have the ridges that are on the nose continue up the forehead.
Keep the almost pacific islander hair, but throw in a little bit of the fu-mah-chu facial hair.
I liked the trench coat look they had in the deleted scenes, it showed they weren't just "ARG! KILL!" but actually had some cunning to them, but just a bit too nazi look.
When we see their armor, it should have cues of the TNG look (mostly color scheme) but with a somewhat more japanese influence. This isn't exactly what I have in mind, but it's a step toward the right direction: http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs38/i/2008/331/8/3/TOS_era_Klingon_redesign_by_vijil.jpg

Personality, keep the language and tone of their voice low but their interactions should seem more intelligent. Speaking as a TNG and beyond fan, I kinda miss the TOS "Space Japanese" of the Klingons, and the "Space Russians" of the Romulans.

Also, bat'leths need a slight overhaul. Keep the shape, but it needs more depth, it always just looks like a slab of stainless steel with leather to me, it needs to look like a REAL weapon, thicken it up a bit, angle the cutting edge, etc.

I'm not against both ridged and ridgeless Klingons appearing together, I just personally don't think they should try explaining it at all; if people haven't seen ENT "Affliction/Divergence", let them make up their own minds as to why they're the way they are. They don't have to explicitly reference the ENT stories, but neither do they have to contradict them. That way everyone's happy.

unless the Klingon bony crest is an exterior feature, ie the bone has no skin covering, the crest will not be well defined
so a google search for iguana mike and see how his forehead implants look (some results might be NSFW even on strict SafeSearch)
I like what little they did in XI for the Klingons. It looks like they had the right idea.

The forehead crests in the older movies and TV shows were always covered by skin, no exceptions. And for the most part, they were very well defined. They don't need to explain the differences in appearance between TOS and TNG era Klingons, we already have one, thank you very much.

I'm happy that you're not against both, but did a long-inactive thread really need to be bumped solely to add what amounts to a slightly-revised version of your own OP from four and a half months ago?
