If I was a Billionaire.

If I was a Billionaire and therefore money was not a problem I would do the following:


  1. Buy a huge area of land and build in the middle of it a huge awesome castle (like Lord Farquaads on Shrek) with walls around it and a moat and inside i'd have a great hall with a throne for me to sit on and a crown made of pure gold. Oh and i'd also build a wall around my land.;)
  2. I'd buy a car and pimp it like they do on 'pimp my ride' so it would have doors that open like the delorean on back to the future and much much more. :cool:
  3. I'd build a huge underground bunker network under my castle incase there was ever a nuclear war.
  4. I'd build myself a sword or Bat'leth from the most expensive, strongest, lightest and durable metal/alloy/ceramic/glass in the world. :klingon:
  5. I'd donate money to the UK military so they could build an aircraft carrier 5 times larger than the current largest in the world.
  6. I'd build myself a luxury cruise liner and make it into a completely self sufficient city.
So guys, if you had enough money to do whatever you wanted, what would you do?
 
- 1/4 would go to charity.
- 1/4 would go into a family trust.
- 1/4 would be invested for future use.
- 1/4 would buy a yacht, a helicopter (which I'd learn to fly), and a couple of cars and I'd spend the rest of my life cruising the world checking out everywhere I'd always wanted to see. I'd take a ride into space at some point. I'd learn and do all the things I'd always wanted to do but never had the time or money for.
 
I think I'd just travel a lot primarily. I certainly wouldn't spend any money on things like a big house (just a pain in the ass) or cars. I would give a lot of money to the football club I support though.
 
I'd pay for a new season of Dr. Psycho and I'd buy my favourite comedian, who's also a TV critic, his own tv station to run.

Alright, if I were really, really rich (and a couple billion $ probably wouldn't be sufficient for that), I would buy all the land I could get my hands on, build fences around the land, reintroduce the animals that were there originally and let the land return to it's natural state before man cut down the forests etc. It might also be necessary to hire death squads guarding the land to prevent people from taking advantage of that - poachers etc.
 
i'd buy an F-14 Tomcat and learn to fly it.

i'd pay for a new season of ENT set after the Romulan War and retcon THAT episode out of existence and show the real birth of the Federation.

i'd finance X-Men: Cyclops and Phoenix which would not feature Wolverine even slightly and would explain that the Jean seen in X3 was a clone and Scott didn't die and they'd be escaping from Mr Sinister and his Marauders.

I'd pay Marvel to let me start and write the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends comic they never did.

I'd pay Jeph Loeb to stay the hell away from Marvel.
 
I'd buy a huge tract of land and build a cabin 50 miles from the nearest road (I'd like to do it in New England but there's no such a remote location). I'd buy a townhouse here in DC, with a nice backyard.
 
If I was a billionaire the world would shudder!

I'd buy a house, pay off my family's debt, pay for law school, give about half to missionary and humanitarian programs that could use the money, and save maybe $50m for future use.

I'd do two chicks at one time.

I'd build a race of atomic supermen, to rule ze vurld!

I'd start a chain of restaurants shaped like food.

Okay, seriously, if money were no object...

- I'd give Los Angeles a professional (American-style) football team.
- I'd produce my own new Star Trek series set in the 25th century.
- I'd turn some of my stories and story ideas into movies and TV series.
- I'd finance a new political party.
- I'd start a wildlife preserve of cloned extinct animals.
- I'd fund a private army of peacekeepers and aide workers not beholden to any government or group other than my own to lend assistance to those in need when it's not politically expedient or worthwhile for others to care.
- I'd start a global satellite internet network and try to get as many computers to the poorest parts of the world as possible to provide educational assistance to people in need.
- I'd bring back Jericho, Enterprise, Journeyman, Pushing Daisies, Alias, and a host of other shows to properly complete their full runs.
- I'd fire and replace the entire writing and production staff of Heroes.
- I'd be George Lucas' "no" man who tells him when to back off from Jar Jars and nuclear-proof refridgerators.
- I'd build a flying car that is safe and easy to use regardless of the idiocy of the driver.
- I'd fund fusion research.
- I'd fund a mission to Mars and a base on the Moon.
- I'd fund a host of medical research into curing various diseases and improving quality of life.
- I'd jump start a universal health care program.
- I'd finance new educational initiatives to decrease class size, increase teacher pay and standards, increase funding for updated classroom technologies and textbooks, etc.
- I'd expand on public transportation.
- I'd buy an island and convert it into a model city-state of the future for testing new urban technologies and social systems.

And a lot more stuff that I would spend the rest of the morning typing if I kept this up...

Come on people, surely you have more of an imagination than this! I mean wouldn't anybody else build themselves a castle with a throne and crown? ;)

I'd definitely have a house built somewhere. Not a mansion - just an average sized house. I'd want it to be built to last, though! The best materials out there. I'd like to have it built on an acre or two of land, just for privacy's sake. Maybe have a nice deck and patio out back, pool, tennis court. Three cars - but none of them luxury cars. I just can't understand paying more than $30k for a car. I'd drive a hybrid as my daily driver. Then have a small SUV for when I need it. And then have something a little sporty just for fun.

I've already started school to get my Master's degree, but I would probably continue with school and go on to get a Ph.D. Maybe even get some degrees in different fields that interest me. I would need to have some sort of career, eventually - I need to feel like I'm doing something. I imagine I might start up my own foundation or something, to do charity work. I'd definitely have to give money away.

I'd like to do some traveling, as well. I'm not real big on wanting to see everyplace on earth, but there are at least a few places I'd like to see. And traveling first class and getting to stay in the best hotels always makes that easier!
 
I'd build an underground city...very exclusive. You must be a personal friend in high esteem to be admitted, but once you're there you wouldn't want to ever leave.

This would be as secret as possible from not only the general public but from the government as well...my city will have its own technical team designed to key the entire place to the most modern computer-controls possible.

If that what's what it was, hmm. Try to stop world hunger; provide boatloads of medicine to the world at no cost; fix the world's infrastructure; provide money to research alternative energy; hire a huge team of the finest doctors, lawyers, and business people to provide free services to those in need; and personally I'd travel and go on missions trips.

Let's see. I'd become a patron of the Arts. This would include making sure that all my talented friends would be published and would get the appropriate publicity so that they could sell their works; this includes literature, art, movies, software, whatever. I'd do the bringing back of my favorite shows, as well. Either I'd buy the studios or the properties or finance them by making arrangements to air them on my own cable network, depending on how unrealistic we're being. I'd fund museums and libraries, and would fund the restoration of old artwork and movies and the republication of out-of-print literature.

I'd become a patron of the Sciences. This would include funding important scientific research to save people from disease and restore them from injury. I would fund subatomic physics research, archaeological and paleontological expeditions and exploration of the seas. I would definitely create a private space program to explore and settle the solar system, and study the universe.

I would buy up huge tracts of land to preserve in a natural or rural state, and I would live there. Here I become a little conflicted, because I don't generally believe in gated communities, but the idea of creating an artist's colony for my friends is very enticing.

I'd fund all important charities to the extent necessary to save people from starvation and to preserve endangered animals.

And I'd pay Linda Park, Surya Bonaly, Hayden Planetarium, Gina Torres, Michaela Conlin and a few others however much it takes to get their clothes off in front of a camera. :cool:

And then on the second day, I'd sit around and think about what to do on the third day.

I think you'd come up a bit short on that one.

A Billion? I'd open up a recording studio and label, maybe set aside a half mil to payola up some "hits" from said studio. Bring up a few good singer/songwriters I know that are slipping between the cracks presently.
The rest would be wisely invested and used to take care of the Fam. Reasonable profts/interest can go to humanities.
I'd have a few vehicle projects, but nothing I couldn't work on myself.

Actually not much different than what I am/do now, just a different scale!

A gold shitter I'd hold off on - gold is really high right now. Wait for gold to drop back down 400/oz or so, then buy the shitter.
