If Dexter Season 2 was divided into two... (SPOILERS)

What if Dexter Season 2 was divided into two seasons?

One season would cover the aftermath of the Ice Truck Killer's reign of terror, the Lila storyline, the arrival of Rita's mother, Deb's trauma, and Doakes' cat-and-mouse games with Dexter. That season would have ended with Doakes' death.

The other season would cover the hunt for the Bay Harbor Butcher with Frank Lundy and the aftermath of Doakes' death.

Would you be interested if Season 2 was divided this way or left as is?

Season 2 doesn't seem to have much problem with balance so leave it. Infact season 2 is better the 2nd time you watch it IMO.

Dexter storylines don't need time to unfold and develop, they should be fast and tense. I think seasons 3 and 5 have proven that.

S2 is my favorite season.

Later seasons have shown that drawing out the story makes it worse. Season two had a perfect pace that built the tension over 12 episodes. I don't see a good reason for it to be changed.
