Human, of course. As progressive and tolerant as Archer was by mid-show and the end of the series I doubt he'd have dated outside his species with the possible exception of T'Pol, but by then she was already interested in and involved with his best friend Trip so it was a no-go. Captain Hernandez of the Columbia was his last girlfriend of any definition or stripe so far as the series went. Dunno about non-canonical stuff AFTER the show ended. His personal datafile on board the 23rd century USS Defiant listed nothing about a wife or romantic relationships post-2161.

I was always annoyed that Archer didn't know why Tucker wanted a transfer. They didn't talk about the girl. Somehow the relationship must have remained secret, or at least a secret to Archer who was busy being impressive. Archer didn't know she was out of bounds or taken... Well, apart for the fact she was married of course.

What makes you think he didn't know about the relationship? Archer just wasn't crass enough to insist on digging out the reason from his friend.

TUCKER: They need me more.
ARCHER: What's this really about?
TUCKER: I told you.
ARCHER: I haven't heard one thing that explains this.
TUCKER: I've said everything I want to.
ARCHER: That's it? I'm supposed to accept that? And if I refuse your transfer?
TUCKER: Captain, as a friend, I'm asking you let me do this.
ARCHER: It's your career, Trip> But as a friend, I'm asking you to stay.
TUCKER: I can't.
ARCHER: All right.
TUCKER: Thank you.
ARCHER: Dismissed.

Archer either didn't know, or he was pretending he didn't know so as not to embarrass Trip. And considering how pissed off Archer was then about being abandoned, how likely is it that he would be pussy footing around at the 11th hour?

if Archer did know, then Archer was certainly extremely crass trying to get Trip to vocalize his situation about being dumped and despondent about that Vulcan leaving him an emotional wreck.

Archer crawled into a bottle for a week when Caroline left him? There should have been some empathy if Archer wasn't caught up in his own issues.
