IDW writer Mike Johnson claims Countdown to Darkness has Easter eggs

I'm assuming it means hints as to what's happening in the movie...anyone find anything?

He also said a follow up to the movie called After Darkness will be published.

Isn't it suppose to have elements that offer hints as to what's in the new movie? Isn't that the whole purpose of it too begin with?

I've noticed that the phaser rifle first seen in IDW's version of "Where No Man Has Gone Before" (published in 2011) is the same as the one seen in the Into Darkness trailers.

I thought that was a pretty cool.

Yeah but the plot itself isn't an "Easter egg", it has to be be something hidden.

Marcus got mentioned in the comic. I'm sure that other "Easter eggs" are of the same kind.

Spock seems to eager to put himself in situations where he may die due to not being able to handle the loss of his mother and Vulcan. It could be why he's in the middle of a volcano in Into Darkness.

Well, he does want us to buy his product... so, yes, he's going to say that the comics have info about the new film.
